Headphone port broken :(

Hello everyone!

I think the headphone port on my G300 is broken or at least damaged...a large portion of my usage of the phone is music so now this is a big problem for me :(. I had the same problem with an IPod touch a couple years ago. What happens is that the left ear works fine however the right one cuts out and stops playing until moved into certain positions. I can't afford to send this off and get it fixed or buy a replacement. If you know anyway I can fix this until Christmas (when I plan on getting a new phone) then I would greatly appreciate that.

Errrrrrm it may sound impossible but it seems okay after a restart...?

-Edit-

Never mind...It's just not as bad yet.

Can i just check, have you tried another pair of headphones? (I don't mean this in a patronising way, but you never know!)

Also, you could put a dry cotton bud to see if anything is stuck in there. (Make sure you do not grind it against the edges, as some cotton could fall off and make the sound even worse)

Also, As you are in the UK, I think the G300 has a 24 month warranty, so you could always call Huawei on:

0844 800 6800

in the UK.

They are open from 9AM to 6PM, from Monday to Friday.

Make sure you have a note of the IMEI and the Serial Number before you call. This can be found under the battery.

I did try 2 different pairs of earphones and also tried them in both my PC and laptop and they do not have a problem in either of those things. And I can't send my G300 to huawei as it has an unlocked bootloader and is running CM9 from Daz.

Yes, I suppose it would. :o

Do you have any idea how long the repair process would take?

2-3 weeks. Postage might take longer

See, you can even satisfy crazy people with tin foil!
