To get this forum going I'd like to ask owners of the Tegra Note 7 to write some thoughts about the tablet. What do you like about it? What don't you like about it?

Oh yes! How can you not for £89-£99! I ordered mine Saturday and got them to price match themselves today!

HDMI, Micro SD and Stylus are big pros. Should get regular Nvidia upgrades. If not its pretty near stock Android.

Hdmi output seems a bit "grainy" to me - not sure why? But it's OK.

Screen is a bit "last year", but for gaming the lower resolution should be a big advantage! Screen is good enough especially at the new price point!

Bargain!

At £89.99 less a bit for cashback, it was rude not to.  In fact I have two on order at the moment.  Not received either yet, but should be excellent for the money!

I have mine at £129 hopefully price match them in the Morning.

Screen is only standard HD, but not a problem.

I find the case does twist a bit but at the now lower price its a steal.

Very fast over 16,000 on Quadrant standard on a good day. just over 15,000 when been on for a while.

I find that the stylus/Pen is a bit loose. as it kicks in the Pens app selection when its out just a tiny bit. I just leave the pen out to stop it..

The speakers are good for a tablet at its full price at least they are on the front, I do like the 6 magnets in the back just behind the speakers, I can mount it on our Fridge while doing the washing up LOL....

It also has a natty feature to allow you to run just off two main cores when screen is on and the slower Single one when screen is off

Only other downside is there is no feature to format the MicroSD card in the settings.

It able to run San Andreas with everything turned upto the highest settings.

I see also its gone back upto £129, which is still good.

Picked one up for £99.99, cant fault it at all - really liking the design and features, I've found the pen to be a lot faster and smoother than the S-Pen. I also find the pen to open the launcher randomly so I've just disabled that feature in the settings.

There is a rooting post on XDA which I will do tonight, don't really need a custom ROM because this one is so fast!! As the bootloaders unlocked someone on XDA is already working on the Clockwork Recovery.

For anyone looking to buy one at £89.99 its incredible value - the screen qaulity is great and I don't see it necessary to have 1080p.

If anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer them :)

Thought I'd ask, Paul will you be working on this device?

35000 on AnTuTu which is incredible, had the Motorola Xoom 10 and the Sammy Tab 2 in the past and this absolutely batters them, loving it.

Yup, no tweaks - nothing:

Well I'm absolutely loving it!

All the negative things I've heard about it are just scaremongering if you ask me.

The screen isn't the highest resolution true, but it really does not bother me in the slightest me...in fact I love it.  I think it's a 'what you're used to' kind of situation.  I'm still using my Samsung Omnia 7 (and still got the Orange SF lurking around somewhere lol!) so this is a bi step up for me.  I can understand that someone coming from a 1080p screen will see it as a step down but really that's all it is, it doesn't make the screen crappy.  I also find colours are good and brightness is fine.

Build quality is ok....just get a little creak now and then round where all the parts are but I sort of expect that tbh.  I love the feel of the back and think in person it looks much better than in the pics.

Performance is obviously pretty stellar and even better after I whacked Nova launcher on and sped up the animations.

The camera isn't the best and I've not really found the AOHDR mode in 4.3 to be anything amazing, but I have taken a few snaps of my baby in good lighting and they are really nice pics!

Love the dual speakers, plenty loud enough for what I need it for and good enough quality as well.

That's it really, I got mine for £90 which is frankly deal of the year as far as I'm concerned.  I imagine even at full price I'd still take this over a nexus 7 (2013) despite the screen difference due to the stylus support and SD expandability (thank god for 4.3 apps2sd).  The only other sacrifice would be the updates but it seems like Nvidia are trying to keep it up to date so hopefully that will continue.

Hi

Is anyone else having edge problems, the left and right sides to the screen are when touched, are bringing up the options

For choose wallpaper from, and I mean my finger is not on the visible screen just the black border

It does not do it on the top or bottom edge the parts with the speakers on ?

Also sometimes the screen will not respond to touches at all for a few goes.

Thanks.

Mine does it too.  I have read some reports on the EVGA forums of the same thing.  Sounds like a design flaw rather a fault.  Doesn't cause me any great problems but it's annoying.

Was considering taking it back but doesn't sound like there is a lot of point if your new one is the same.  Did they mention refunds at all?

I got a refund, and then got another one a few days later after buying a kobo arc 32gb lol.

You can only get refund before 28 days are up I think..

I did get a refund as every one I tried had the same issue and it would drive me insane!!  I assume you didn't think much to the Kobo Arc then?!?  Or was that as well as the Note 7?

I have to take my lastest one back it worse than the first one.

Keeps telling me that I have removed the headphones every time its booted up from cold. Plus the touch screen problem

I have a video on youtube if you search for me its ATC9000.

lets hope they get it right with the Next one.

Well I've gone back to a Nexus 7 tegra 3 version, at least the screen works without problems, my son got one used for £120 with 32gb and 3g too from Cex

I will have to wait for a better version of the tegra 4 based tablet :-(

Sorry to hear that, I really wanted to like mine for games but once I took it back I got a PS Vita instead!!  Am going to get a Nexus 7 at some point in the future I suspect.  Shame as the tablet has great potential.

My son traded in his 3g PS vita for the Nexus 7 which they had marked up wrong and was in fact a 3g version that should have cost £20 more.

He's only 8 so he's not that bothered lol
