Hi guys , I have VERY BIG problem so i need QUICK help. I own Huawei g300 phone and i wanted to install CyanMod 11 ... i had difficulties ( it was dropping error 7 all the time in CWM ) so i formatted disk and then accidentally sd disk. Now i have 0 images on the phone , disk is clearely wiped, i have no backup , and when i put phone in computer (USB) it wont show my SD disk so i can put new roms on it. I have black Huawei Ascend screen loading for years and nothing happens. I tried installing G300_Handset_WinDriver but still it wont mount my sd card on computer. Is there any way to fix my phone or am i screwed? tyyyyyy

P.S. i hear beep on my computer (win 8) like device is loaded and in device manager i have Android device with exclamation mark ( i tried to force installing Handset drivers but it didnt work) but i dont have drive letter for sd card / normal phone

i did this ... when i go mount usb storage nothing happens ... it's ike that button doesnt work

Did you connect te USB cable before "click" to "mount usb storage"?

Other possible cause is that you formatted your SD with ext3 or ext4 file system. Windows can't handle it by default.

Format it to FAT or FAT32 in CWM.

After connect the SD to the computer, you can try TestDisk or PhotoRec to recover your data. Here is the link: http://www.cgsecurity.org/

I've used PhotoRec multiple times on damaged SD cards and works fine for photos and videos. (Haven't tried it with other file types, but the homepage says it should work. But if you haven't seen the partition itself, TestDisk can be better.

What version of CWM are you using?

If all comes to all then take the microsd card out of the phone and using a card reader (and maybe micro to regular adaptor) copy the files on the PC itself.

if you "click" on format /storage/sdcard, it should ask for the file system.

Anyway, which SD we are talking about, the internal, or the removable?

If the removable, you can do it in an SD card reader with windows too.

I presume you mean you have no drive letter on the PC for the card?

I'm taking about taking the external sd card out of the phone altogether and then (via an adaptor and card reader) formatting/copying files on the PC itself without the phone being involved at all.

However as mentioned above it's not clear if you are referring to the "internal" sdcard (which obviously cannot be removed) or the external in the micro sdcard slot?

I don't know why your recovery does not seem to have a mount usb storage option. I'm using an even older version (5.x) of CWM and it has that option.

It seems like he has the option, but seems doesn't do anything for him.

Oh - sorry - missed that.

But not sure why it doesn't work then...

I've never had a problem with it (except on the CWM running on my Haier W910! :|)

I still think that the problem is the filesystem.

@kdelivuk: do you see the SD card in the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer management -> Storage -> Disk management after you "clicked" on the "mount usb storage"
