Hi all, I have hada G300 for about 18 months so far, with quite a few apps and and additional 8GB mini SD card as it was ou of the box. The other day, withouth much research in advance, I have updated as per recommended by vodafone as it kept flashing up as a notification.

Anyway, I went from B895 to B952 ... and I am now experiencing all sorts of problems.

I have done some reading and it looks like I am not the only one ... problems such as:

- memory issues: I can either select the internal memory or the mini SD card, however when seleting the latter everything moves and I still get a message that I'm low on space. Also music doesn't play even though it is on my SD card. Furthermore, after hte udodate when I restore my back up I had to re-intall all my apps from Google play, which were ll downloaded again taking space on my internal SD card.

- homescreen: it keeps dropping a direct dial widget from the home screen, as well as a link to the maps.

- bluetooth paired up, however when connected, sometimes it does not connect.

I do like the look of the new android system ... is there a new update to solve the above problems? WIll the B961 solve some of this issues?

I did look at restoring to the previous version, however I found hte instructions far too complicated and I readlly do not know what I'm doing ... worries I'm completely blocking the phone and I will not be able to use it anymore.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

First things first - if you don't know what to do then start reading up on stuff so you do. :)

My opinion is that GB ROMs work best with this device but others have had good (better?) experiences with ICS, JB and even KK ROMs...

But I settled on CM7 before I gave my G300 away recently.

I found GB ROMs to be the most stable and smooth.

One possibility (but there are many!) ... is to root, unlock bootloader, install CWM etc. as outlined here:

http://www.modaco.com/topic/366749-help-to-root-bootloader-and-others/#entry2177051

You could even use the "like you're 5 tutorial" to do an unofficial unlock of the ICS bootloader if you subsequently install the GB bootloader...

Otherwise (e.g. if you plan to run ICS or later) then do an official unlock.

Install the GB bootloader and baseband (not absolutely necessary but I found it simplest):

Install a GB ROM such as

CM7: http://www.modaco.com/topic/365763-gb237-cyanogenmod-7-updated-181113/

Superslim: http://www.modaco.com/topic/365041-gb-b895-superslim-v1/

Slim: http://www.modaco.com/topic/364973-gb-b895-slim-v7-multibaseband/

AtomicMod: http://www.modaco.com/topic/355090-rom-gb-atomicmod-any-baseband-gbics/

As I say this is just one suggestion - other people may have their own suggestions for you.

Good luck.
