I was composing a message and the phone got stuck when I was about to select the recipients. (Wanted to group send message so that’s why I was not answering directly.) After waiting for a while the phone was still not responding then I forced to shut down and turned it on again. Okay I again edited the same text and tap to choose receivers. Good grief! NO CONTACTS! EMPTY! Why? What happened?

I first tried to sync Gmail contacts back to my Sony Xperia, however when I logged in to Gmail and it was the same! NO CONTACTS!

Long story short, I finally found Myjad Android Contact Recovery which seems to be useful because I want simply the contacts. So is there anyone tried successfully restoring lost contacts with this program? Any advice? Many thanks!

It is possible to directly recover lost Android contacts, but you should make sure you have backup files somewhere.
1. Google account, if you have a google account for your android phone and open the automatically sync, you can try to recover from google account.
2. Offical PC software, generally speaking, an android phone need to upgrade in computer via a official PC software, such as Samsung PC studio, and this applicaiton have a automatically backup function, when you connect the phone to computer and launch the application, it will make a backup for your phone data, thus you can try to find the backup from PC studio.
3. 3rd-party android assistant, which is similar with PC studio, and it is more convenient, and the backup is more obvious.

As far as I know, there are two ways to solve this problem:

1. If you have Google Account, the contacts are probably synced with your Google Account. You can log in GMail and visit Google Contacts to find them out.

2. If the methods above cannot help you work it out. You may have to try to use some third-party recovery tool like Android Data Recovery, which may help you get your deleted contacts back. You can visit the following tutorial for more details:

Hope this helps :D

I happen to know a great tool which is specially designed to recover Android phone or tablet data. It is called Android Data Recovery. You can follow the steps below to restore the lost contacts on Android phone:
1. Connect your Android phone with PC via USB or WiFi
2. Start scanning and select the file which you want to restore
3. Click "Recover" to save the recovered contacts
It seems very easy and it is!

Whether you have contact backup or not, you can use MobiKin Doctor for Android to get them back. For internal memory data, you need root your device first, then it is able to deep scan your phone memory and find the deleted SMS and contacts. Just need to connect your phone to computer via  a USB cable. How to find deleted contacts on Android

You can also use it to recover lost data from your SD card. And remember that you need root your device first to recover deleted SMS and contacts.

Lost Contacts? Don't worry! FoneDog Toolkit - Android Data Recovery can help you get back your lost contacts.

Losing an important contact is a hectic thing. In some cases we tend to lose some if not all of our contacts, not because of our fault but by accident. Well, this isn't the worst case scenario. Imagine losing all your vital contacts and having no way to retrieve them, that's when the real trouble kicks in and this is a major and catastrophic incident.

However, in recent times ways have been formulated to counter such occurrences. There are various, simple, easy, and quick ways to do this, all that is required is your Android device and a working network connection and you are good to go.

When a contact is deleted from your Android phone, the contact is not totally gone from your phone memory. It jusy disppears from the People/Contacts app but continues to exist in your phone memory as unreadable data until it is overwritten by new data. If you can find out the data and recover it to readable text before it is overwritten, the contact is recovered.

However, there is no way that you can do it manually. You need a data recovery tool to restore the deleted contact for you. You can use FoneDog – Android Data Recovery. These are the steps to use the software.

Step1.Launch the application and connect your Android.

Step2.Select file type to scan and Click the 'Next' button for the next step.

Step3.Preview recoverable files and choose the ones you want to recover.
