EE have reduced the pricing of their 4G Sim-Only contracts, lets dive straight in and take a look at what's on offer.

EE 4G 12 Month Sim-Only Contracts

  • £9.99, 100MB, 500 Mins, 500 Texts
  • £11.99, 250MB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £13.99, 500MB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £16.99, 1GB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £19.99, 2GB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £22.99, 4GB, Unlimited Mins, Unlimited Texts
EE 4G 1 Month Sim-Only Contracts
  • £12.99, 100MB, 500 Mins, 500 Texts
  • £14.99, 250MB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £16.99, 500MB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £19.99, 1GB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £22.99, 2GB, 1000 Mins, Unlimited Texts
  • £25.99, 4GB, Unlimited Mins, Unlimited Texts
So basically, £3 extra onto each tariff if you want the flexibility of just a 30 day contract.

Benefits of EE Plans

  • "Orange Wednesdays"
  • Wifi on the underground
  • Unlimited tethering
Sadly there are no Quidco offers for the 1 month contracts, but you can get cashback by taking a 12 month contract.

£70 Quidco cashback on 12 month SIM only contracts on a £19.99 and £22.99 monthly tariff

£45 Quidco cashback on 12 month SIM only contracts on a £13.99 and £16.99 monthly tariff

£30 Quidco cashback on 12 month SIM only contracts on a £9.99 and £11.99 monthly tariff

When you compare the EE tariffs to what Three are offering its tough to see much value with EE.

Three 4G 1 Month Sim-Only Contracts

  • £12.90, Unlimited Data, 200 Mins, 5000 Texts
  • £18.90, Unlimited Data, 600 Mins, 5000 Texts
  • £23.00, Unlimited Data, 2000 Mins, 5000 Texts (and 5000 Three-to-Three mins)
Three 4G 12 Month Sim-Only Contracts
  • £15.90, Unlimited Data, 600 Mins, 5000 Texts
  • £20.00, Unlimited Data, 2000 Mins, 5000 Texts (and 5000 Three-to-Three mins)
Whilst more expensive, EE's 4G coverage is miles ahead of Three at the moment, so certainly a consideration if you're in an area that Three haven't reached yet. Although Three obviously offer AYCE (all you can eat) data, which is a massive draw for many.

Maybe you have an alternative 4G Sim-Only deal you can recommend?

We'd love to hear from you!

I just went to the EE and T-Mobile sites to look how the non-4G plans compare.  T-Mobile site now takes me directly to the EE site, which does not mention any 3G plans that I can see.

Personally, I'm not impressed with their 4G plans at all.

Tesco Mobile do some good offers and use O2's network including 4G which works well enough for me.

You can get 1000 minutes, 5000 texts and 1Gb of data for £15 per month with a 1 month rolling contract.  Or 2000 mins and 2Gb of data for £17.50 on the same contract basis.

If you sign up for a 12 month contract, 1500 minutes, 5000 texts and 2Gb of data is yours for £15 per month.  Quite a decent deal IMO.

If you get a £15 per month tariff, you can add another 1Gb of data on for £2.50 a month as well.

Obviously you get clubcard points as well.  Worth considering perhaps.

There are various technical methods to try and detect that you are tethering including TTL (Time to live) of packets.

Hmm I would love to come back to EE - I've used a couple of 2GB chuck away data sims and the speed is impressive - but these prices still cannot compete with the likes of giffgaff (about to get 4G) Tesco etc.

Worth looking at Mobi Data if you want just a small amount of data only - not tried them myself but prices look OK (especially if you get their double allowance offer)

Wake up call; "THREE" do WAY better and truly unlimited data for £15 pcm... and they actually HAVE a decent data infrastructure, and have had since day one (the name "Three" kinda gives a big clue).

Move along, nothing worth seeing here.
