Governor issues

OK guys look my Basebrand is virgin 2.2. My phone has many tweaks on like Gravity box and stuff, full rooted and cwm. That was just a description to know what I currently have installed.

My issue now:

My governor is by default set to ondemand. When I change to interactive, everything goes far more faster but, when I lock the phone and leave it for example like 10 mins sleeping I have problems on wake. Everything seems to go laggy, like playing a game with frame skip (to let you know what I face) and touch reacts after 3 or 4 secs. After 1 or 2 laggy mins, everything goes back to normal, faster than ondemand like it's meant to be. What's going on? Can that be fixed? Thanks in advance for paying some attention.

I will try changing some of the Interactive governor settings and compile a new kernel for you to try if you wish, but not until next week, RL is crazy busy for me at the moment.

I had some unexpected free time so I've built a tweaked kernel.  Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

  1. Use CWM or similar to do a full nandroid backup
  2. From a Windows computer, install the ZTE USB drivers and fastboot, see this post for details
  3. Download boot-gahint0.1-8225uk2.2.img and put in on your computer in the folder that contains fastboot.exe
  4. Connect your phone via a USB cable to the same computer
  5. Reboot your phone into bootloader
  6. When the green android appears, on your computer navigate to the folder containing boot-gahint0.1-8225uk2.2.img and type
fastboot boot boot-gahint0.1-8225uk2.2.img

Give your phone a few seconds and it should boot normally.  Check that you're using the modified kernel by going into Settings → About phone.  The kernel version should be 3.4.0-gahint0.1; if it's 3.4.0-perf then something has gone wrong and the phone has booted from the stock kernel.

Disclaimer: I have booted my phone from this kernel without any problems, but you do so at your own risk.  The above instructions will only temporarily boot from my custom kernel, they will not permanently flash it to your phone, so the risk of problems is small.

Yes, it has the ramdisk with init.d support.

Please don't bundle this kernel with your MIUI ROM, it's experimental.  All I did was change some defaults for the interactive governor to see if it helped the OP.  It may be worse than stock, I won't know unless he tests it.
