This is a custom ROM which requires the bootloader to be unlocked on your Nexus phone.

If you have already done this then that's really cool.... you can directly procedd for the ROM flashing or else you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery first.

For the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM flashing on your Galaxy Nexus; you need to have the following files:

- CM 12.1 ROM zip file

- CM 12.1 Google Apps

 

Flashing CyanogenMod 12.1 on Galaxy Nexus:

Consider taking a nandroid backup of your OLD ROM before installing this new ROM. [RECOMMENDED]

 

- Copy the ROM and GApps package to your phone.

- Enter into the custom recovery.
- Do a Factory Reset/Wipe Data and Cache partition [RECOMMENDED]

- Install the ROM and Gapps recovery flashable zip packages using the custom recovery.

- Reboot your phone to enjoy the CyanogenMod 12.1 for Galaxy Nexus phone.

 

SuperSU is not needed because CyanogenMod 12 has inbuilt supersu.

YOu just need to enable developer options, and then go to Root access and there allow root access for apps and adb.
