I have a 56K V90 Intel Hardware Modem and I used to get really good connection speeds when connecting to an ISP through standard dial up.

But lately it's been very sluggish, connecting at a max of 36K and I don't know why! I am using WinXP Pro.  I have tried a different PC with Win98 into the same phone socket and I get speeds of up to 44K.

I don't remember changing any settings or installing anything to cause my connection to be so slow. Any help in getting my modem to run normally again would be greatly appreciated.
