Bug: No Fax and Data Support

[Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission PMerry!]

SYMPTOM:

The Smartphone 2002 platform does not support Fax and Data calls on dedicated numbers.

Calls to a dedicated GSM Fax number will not ring on the SPV (but will ring to the calling party until a 'no answer' divert is triggered), and calls to a dedicated GSM Data number are dropped.

It has been stated that support for multi-numbering fax and data calls is an optional component of the GSM specification. Whilst inconvenient, the lack of support on the SPV is not critical. However as the platform does not support the functionality, the result will be that all Smartphone based 'phones will not support incoming fax and data calls until this issue is resolved.

RESOLUTION:

None Known

Not according to the T-Mo site:

Internet allowances (GPRS data)

These great value allowances save you money on Internet and WAP browsing, and sending and receiving email on the move*.

Name Allowance size Monthly fee Cost/ MB when allowance used

Internet 1 1MB ?2.00 ?3.00

Internet 6 6MB ?5.00 ?3.00

Internet 12 12MB ?10.00 ?3.00

Internet 20 20MB ?15.00 ?1.00

Internet 55 55MB ?25.00 ?1.00

Internet 110 110MB ?40.00 ?1.00

Internet 256 256MB ?55.00 75p

Internet 512 512MB ?70.00 75p

Internet 1024 1GB ?90.00 75p

Don't forget that although in store offers are nice, you get 25% off the monthly charges if doing it via the T-Mobile website, making the ?35 tarrif (?180 allowance) only ?26.25.

What's more, with a MDA Vario, a MDA Compact II or even an N70 if that floats your boat free of charge, it's insanely good value!
