badword fellas, I dropped my SPV in a toilet this saturday in a pub!  :oops: Yeah sounds whack and it is WHACK! Dried it for a few days and sent it to be repaired! doubt they'll fail to notise that it has been *drowned* when the Orange fellas open it to try to locate the problem..... damn. Phone worked alright 'cept that it could only be turned on when the charger was attached!  :shock: Talk about being stupid!!!

Well, time will tell if I have to buy myself a brand new one *again*!  :cry:

This is absolutely the last straw...

I was willing to put up with everything else I'd heard on the forum and still buy an SPV.  But it's not even toilet proof...  how can orange suggest that this phone is ready to bring to market.

I'm ringing and cancelling my order today.

Hehe, yeah! They could at least have made it water proof, eh! Phones end up being toilet flushed all the time, they should consider issues like this as standard *usage*!  :roll:  :roll:

Nah sorry man i was laughing at what spacemonkey said, about this being the last straw just found it amusing thats all! Hope everything goes ok for you bet that was a pissoff, i can see myself doing that after a good nite out, these americans dont drink like us british bet microsoft neva though of getting drunk and destorying ya phone! My SL45 was out of action for 2 weeks when i got the phone wet then the battery life went down considerably i rekon phones arnt to bad with getting wet as long as you let them dry, but batterys HATE it.

Hm that might be the reason why I had to plug-in my charger to turn it on then eh? Hopefully a new battery will solve it then! Fingers-x!

Well fellas, just thought I'd let you know that my SPV works fine now, a new battery and a hard reset did the trick..... I'm fairly amazed actually.. Usually phones will die right away when in contact with water, and in my case it was rather extreme! Thumbs up!!

We all know that most phone accidents happen when us good ol' drinking brits get nice and pissed.

Anywho this one time, i was running to hail a black cab (in a very pissed state). i was trying to dodge a couple of puddles, but then the drink took over. I slipt and as i was falling forward i saw my brand new Nokia 8250 fly out of my shirt pocket and fall towards the floor (right into a puddle). It hit the ground, the front facia came off, the back came off, the batters flew out. I then landed on the mess of parts that was once my phone, soaking myself in the puddle and looking like a right twat.

I got the phone home, took it apart and left it next to the radiator. I kid you not i put it all back together in the morning and it turned on straight away. I was well impressed.

But then again it was a Nokia

Hm hehe yeah, lucky you! A few og my m8s both got their phones wet (both Nokia's but that doesn't matter) and they were totally screwed in like no time, all rusty inside and ready for the trasher........... Well I couldn't open my SPV to dry it properly, so that's kinda the reason why I'm amazed that it works flawlessly now. CAN it be opened???!

I think it can, as they wouldn't be able to recondition the ones that come back with minor "internal" faults!
