 That's such a load of bo**ocks :!:

I can just imagine the consultant saying "Why didn't I get Mr Jones' X-ray?"

"Oh 'cos you're on Vodafone and I'm on Orange, and although cross network MMS is supposed to work it doesn't most of the time :x "

"Oh and also GPRS is down in Wales at the moment, so I'm afraid Mr Jones will just have to wait till Orange ring me back in a couple of days  "

"Oh, and I almost forgot, I'm not even allowed to turn my mobile phone on in hospital :!: :!: :!: "

It might actually work!

I was thinking about it and the biggest problem with taking datailed photos is the light level. with the light board there that problems gone. you could get close to the problem point and snap away...

oh sorry i didnt notice it was a nokia he was holding, in that case it defently wouldnt work!

That's got to be the scariest thing I've ever heard! Man, I want a doctor to be checking out my stuff in person so he can see it in a little better detail than 640 X 480. Anyone agree?

Heh...and yes, if the consultant really can't be there a high-resolution scan e-mailed to him would be a lot more accurate. Scary really.

This is such a load of bull - the important thing that we tend to overlook is that the majority of the population would in fact believe in this cr*p! 8)

Good promo to an out of date handset though

I saw some of it on the news last night, maybe one day but not quite yet.

I was thinking that as well :?

Perhaps they turn the radio off (if it's possible on the brick) take the photo then

run half a mile up the road to send it?

Actually, the Messaging functionality and organisational abilities offered by Nokia Series60 makes it quite a good device for this kind of thing - tho' I agree that the resolution won't be the best for situations where detail is of great importance. Maybe for cases where someone's arm has been pulled off by a rampaging sheep and the remote doctor needs an approximate idea of where the arm has been severed?

Maybe having someone taking a picture in the hospital wasn't such a good idea since I'd expect photos to be taken 'in the field' and received 'in the doctor's office' - of course, the 7650 can natively send photo attachments in e-mails, so MMS isn't really necessary, so that's a big plus.

And coverage in Wales isn't that bad! Come on! :-)

Hey, Davidrm! Pleased to meet you! I'm in Cwmtwrch!

It's 15 miles north of Swansea, past Morriston toward Brecon (it's actually near Ystradgynlais and Ystalyfera) - you must have heard of them!? ;-)

We're all baaa-rmy wollybacks up here!

ystalyfera and ystragynlais, ever heard of Pontlliw ?

Looks like someone has just choked!

But seriosuly, where the hell did the Welsh get the crazy idea that anybody could pronounce these places without sounding as though they were choking on a bone or something!

And before you all go mad, I am at least half Welsh AND I can pronounce (choke-on/whatever you need to do to speak Welsh) Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch if needed.
