hi..

anyone can help me with a problem? here's my first home screen

I used the smart shortcut for the power tasks, i got it from the dx_ppc theme...

kaso may problem.. about the shortcut, di siya gumagana pag-nagiisa.. weird kasi, pag ibang app.. like task, settigs, even imeter, gumagana siya..

try ko kung dalawang magkadikit, gumagana yung power task na nasa 2nd (right side) but hindi na gumagana ung 1st (sa left side).. so what i did was to use the 2 adjacent shortcut plug-in pero hindi na kita sa screen ung 1st

ok na siya tingnan but the problem is when you scroll down, naseselect ung 1st shortcut, so parang naskip ung power task.. so kelangan pa mag-right para maselect yung power task...

anybody knows how to solve this? please.. thanks!

Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Hi there,

I red some more about these plugins on the forum.

I know why mine doesn't work.

I use the Qteq 7070 rom and this does not support these plug-ins.

Do you still use the original Orange rom?

If not this is the problem.

I will try to get it working on the other SPV I have.

Now I know the problem of mine ha ha ha.

You hear soon from me.

Cya :)

This sucks!! :evil:

I have tried several times over the last few weeks to get this shortcut plugin to work. I have read every post referring to it - & copied the xml from several posts into homescreen xml's with no results at all. Even when I install a skin which uses this plugin it won't work for me (I installed DX_PPC skin & changed the shortcuts to my folders etc but they just get skipped over on the homescreen. :?

I have E100 with the 1.5.0.29 Orange ROM, so I believe the plugin should work OK.

WHY THE @#$% DOESNT IT THEN???????????? :evil: :evil:

Can anybody who knows post the relevant xml code for this plugin which could be simply copied/pasted into a current xml file??

Please! :)

The CLSID number is different on the Orange ROM shortcut plugin than the Smart ROM.

Find a skin with the Orange ID number for the shortcut plugin (Neostream in the downloads section has it).

I'd give it to you....but I dont know it off-hand.

Sorry...it was the last plugin at the bottom of the page....inappropriately named WINAMP.

It is written here as a hidden link that will open an HTML file showing html links but you just need the clsid number.

<!-- Links -->

   <plugin clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" name="winamp" height="1">

  <shortcut width="100%" icon="71" action="IPSMApplication DataHomeneolinks.html" />

  </plugin>

OK - sign me up for 'the muppet show'!! :oops:

I replaced the clsid number in the shortcut plugin I was using - no joy! :?

That's the same plugin clsid I use for a similar 'links' shortcut - which does work!!

That's what I've been using to no effect - with the 'links' shortcut I'm talking about at the end (called 'oranges2' coz I pinched it off Midnights Modaco skin!! :oops: )

What does the   do?

Is that referencing an icon?

Here's another that I know works....follow the format and you can't go wrong...as long as you are using the Orange ROM.

<!-- Links #1-->

<plugin clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" name="oranges1" height="20" group="ieo">

<format state="selected" bgcolor="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT"/>

<background b-border-width="0"/>

<shortcut width="50%" icon="61" action="http://wireless.cnn.com/avantgo/cnn/index.html">

<text>News</text>

</shortcut>

<shortcut width="50%" icon="82" action="http://www.modaco.com/mobile/">

<text>MoDaCo</text>

</shortcut>

</plugin>

Yeah... but that's kind of the same as the shortcut I have at the bottom of my xml that I said I used for 'links' page. I don't have any problem getting it to work. It's the Orange shortcuts plugin I want - where you can create a list of fixed shortcuts, with icons, to programs, like the MRU but always the same programs. It's the third subject down if you click plugin!! :wink:

The   was in that code which I lifted out of one of the previous posts about this subject - I dunno what it means, but it would make sense if it looks to you like icon related. It's a list of icons I'm looking for!

I know this has been discussed many times, MA-NY WAY-S!! But, jeez, you know - it still don't make no sense!!

AAARRRGGG!! :twisted:

Then this is the format you want:

<plugin clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" name="myicons1" height="20">

<format state="selected" bgcolor="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT"/>

<background b-border-width="1"/>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuProductivityCalendar.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuProductivityContacts.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuProductivityPower Tasks.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuProductivitySmartphoneNotes.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuCommunicationsInbox.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuCommunicationsInternet Explorer.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuMultimediaWMPlayer.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuMultimediaPocketTV.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuCommunicationsCall History.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

<shortcut width="20" action="IPSMWindowsStart MenuMultimediaCamera.lnk"><text> </text></shortcut>

</plugin>

but you didn't have this in it....

<format state="selected" bgcolor="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT"/>

<background b-border-width="1"/>

thought it was worth a try.

What is it doing/not doing???

No, sorry - it was just my bad in putting in the code in the previous post. That bit of code was in there - what you posted is exactly the same bit of code I'm trying to use!

I have it in my xml, but on the phone, the plugin just doesnt appear - no icons, & when I scroll down on the phone it just doesnt seem to be there at all! :cry:

I have tried this all a million times with no results ever!! :cry: :cry:

Hi DrBlow :)

I am guessing that :-

Is the code you are trying to get to work right ? I am guessing that you don't appear to be seeing a lot on the screen ? Or are you see a small 1 pixel high line and the actions not working ?

try

It hasn't got the ability to query the .htm for an icon as it can with .lnk files (it uses the same icon as the menu shows).

You set the height of the plugin to 1 which is 1 pixel high and didn't associate any text or an icon with the action (loading your htm file), this means that when it calls the paint subroutine there is nothing as such to paint so that's why you can't see it.

There are a few other icons but I cen remeber the references off hand I'm sure there are reference about,

although you could always add

My page of links

you may or may not need the file: at the beginning of the action, but I think the issue was the height with no icon or text. Give these a whirl if you are still having no joy then could you post your full layout and colourscheme ?

Thanks m8 - but that's NOT the plugin I'm talking about!! That one works fine, & is set like that coz it's a 'hidden' links page!! :wink:

Sorry, I should never have included that plugin in the post! :oops: I'm talking about the Orange shortcuts plugin (from Orange full layout home screen) with a bunch of static icons linked to a list of programs - like the mru but always the same icons, to the same apps, in the same place.

Does anybody know what I'm on about?????? :x

EEK, :shock:

its a case of code blindness for us all

You have a hypen in the tag for adding the "plugin".

It seems whenever you type the "plugin" word on modaco its add the hypen even if you don't type it !!!!

ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This breaks the xml in the homescreen layout as home.exe can't instantiate the appropriate inproceserver dll. I've emailed you code that works, wiithout the dreaded hyphen. I tried to paste it here but the - bit gets added.

Can we stop hyphenating the "pluggable" word please :)

Em... dunno ... it's still not working for me! :cry:

I got the email (thanks statscat!! :wink: ) but the copy attatched didn't show the icons plugin. I checked the code & apart from the fact that the heights run over 180, there doesn't seem to be any more problems. The height thing shouldn't stop it showing up, it justs skips the plugin again & goes to the bottom 'link' plugin!

Is it something to do with having 2 shortcuts together??

HA! That's the funniest thing! Two pages of comments plus on other threads as well and THAT'S the problem. I was starting to think drblow was nuts. I'll see what we can do. Nice catch guys.
