Hi,

I have simillar issue with my tmobile sda & was really excited to see the answers in the forum. But below are the steps little diffferent that dee_shot i the forum link below.

http://www.modaco.com/content/hurricane-va...ge/#entry973784

Basically when I plug in the phone to either wall/usb charger,

- It shows green light

- when I turn on (with charger connected) by pressing power it shows inital T-Mobile screen for few seconds & then goes blank

- If I charge & remove the battery charger it shows me that The three-colored screen which says...

Tornado IPL 1.00

Tornado SPL 1.00.0014

Tornado IU

After going thru the post above, I wasnt able to get past the inital step, mainly because it seems evrything is based on the fact that, PC should somehow able to see SDA. So for the statement in the post above,

"i have gotten my pc and ROM update utility to see my SDA"

I am not sure how it was achieved. Meanwhile just a few days before I brought new batteries. It started working again as usual till the point when I turned off my cell phone during the flight commute. & now again back to same position.

All the help is really appreciable.

Thanks Tons

Chary

My SDA will not boot or charge the battery.

It was working fine, the battery drained, so I plugged it into the wall charger and it wouldn't charge.

I got an external battery charger and charged the battery.

I am now able to turn on the phone but it gets stuck at the white TMobile screen.

I tried to do a hard reset, by getting to the boot loader screen and pressing "0".

The phone gets stuck at the white TMobile screen again. It has been stuck there for about 45 mins.

Does anyone know if this is fixable? and if so, how? Is my phone dead? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm new to Modaco and can't find anything on this problem....

Using a fully charged battery,my C600 thinks the battery is dead and switches off. The battery is definitely full (charged with my old C550).

It works fine when connected to a pc or charger (although the battery has an 'X' on it). I have tried three other batteries and a different charger.

It has ceased to be a 'mobile' phone!

Does anyone think this is fixable?

This post has been editted on 27th Dec '07. It will leave you with an English Qtek rom.

Im just consolidating messages I have left in other topics because its nothing short of a bitch to find, install and configure a russian qtek 8200 rom for English use on a t-mobile sdaII or spv c550 for instance.

You will need activesync, 8200 Qtek ROM, Regedit, Mobile Registry Editor and SPV Services. I will tell you where to get them all from so dont worry about them right now.

To flash the phone you will have to CID unlock the phone. To CID unlock the phone you will have to install cert.cab and use SPV Services. But you will have to application unlock the phone to install cert.cab

1. Application Unlock

Download and install ActiveSync

https://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/act...nc/default.mspx

Make sure its open and has connected to your phone.

Download Regedit

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=attach...st&id=18427

Using Explore in ActiveSync copy the regedit file to \storage\windows\startmenu

Then on your phone Press start and open regedit which will appear in the list. If it doesnt appear just open a folder in the Start menu and then naviagte back to regedit in the first menu.

Navigate to....

HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies

and press values.

Open 00001001 and change the value data to 1

Do the same for 00001005 but change the value data to 40.

2. CID Unlock

Now download SPV Services. Its a simple google.

Once you have downloaded and extracted the SPV Services folder copy the cert.cab to your phone, just copy it to \storage.

On your phone press Start and then System Management (or Accessories) and open File Manager. Click on storage then change it to list view. You should see cert.cab in the list. Click on it and install it.

Once this is done make sure activesync is connected and open SPVServices from within the SPV Services folder you downloaded. Then click on CID Unlock on the left. I cant remember what screens you should see but it was quite straight forward.

Once you have CID unlocked your phone you can now install the rom.

3. Installing the ROM

I cant post a link to the qtek 8200 russian rom but its is there somewhere!

Try searching for.....

"HU_BP_RUS_101577_13234_1410_ship"

Its on a forum and hosted via ftp.

Make sure activesync is connected and your phone is turned on as normal (you dont need to be in the boot screen)

Simply double click on the rom you downloaded and follow the instructions.

Once the flash is done you will have russian phone!

4. Make your phone English!

Press Start, then press 8 (for settings, its the only folder in the first screen of the start menu... just in case its not 8!), then press 0 and then 5 (Regional Settings)

Change the top menu to UK English and reboot the phone. I then went back to Regional Settings and set the locale to UK too. Reboot the phone again.

It should now be in English.

5. Make the Text Input English.

The text fields (ie. anywhere you enter text) will still use Russian characters.

Download and install this program.... MobileRegistryEditor

http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/20...try_Editor.aspx

It allows to to edit your phones registry from your pc.

Open the Mobile Registry Editor program and make these changes. You are best off deleting the other registry entries. These are the only ones you need.

HKLM\input\ldbs

0409 with t9englis.dll string and I deleted the rest.

HKLM\t9 input method

current ime as 400

current ldb as 0409

default alpha ldb as 0409

HKLM\t9 input method\ime

0400 as \windows\t9aw.dll

HKLM\t9 input method\ime order

0409 as 0400

HKLM\t9 input method\ldbs

0409 as T9Englishldb.dll

I dont know if you need to do something different if you want to use US English language and locale.

That should now leave you with a 100% English Qtek rom.

Hi,

I'm new here. I have just replaced my Blackberry Curve with an HTC S620/T-Mobile Dash, mainly because of BlackBerry Data rates issues here in the Philippines. They just charge too much. I'd say I'm very happy with my HTC (Excalibur) specifically because of its integration of wifi capabilities. Now I don't get charged with unnecessary data (GPRS/EDGE) connection charges when I'm at home (I use NoData.CAB to turn of these connections). Perfect for me!

Now I am left with only 2 problem apps that shuld complete my satisfaction with my new phone; WorldMate and IM+ (currently using Agile, I'd still prefer IM+ over it). I tried downloading all versions of .CAB files but installation always turns out UNSUCCESSFUL. I even made sure that in mobimate, I click the option "check if your phone is compatible with this application", and I see the HTC Calibur there. I click that and download the specific .CAB file for that. That didn't work either.

I have searched the internet desperately trying to find a solution or at least somebody who has the same problem as mine, but no luck on that deparment.

Is there anything I can do to tweak my phone or something? Edit a registry of sort? Please, please, please can anyone help me? I really want this apps to be in my phone. :D

Hi everyone this is my first post on MoDaCo.

I have a problem which I first encountered on an Orange SPV C500 (AKA Typhoon) and is also now evident on my SPV C550 (AKA Hurricane)

and my SPV E650.

The problem is this.

If you want to add an sms ringtone (midi ringtone on the SPV C550) and then someone sends you a text message, any normal mobile phone would accept any key press to stop

the ringtone from playing the SPV C550 ignores the keypresses and carries on playing the tune till the end (this is a pain in the ass if your on a bus or somewhere else

embarrasing).

Is there a way to cure this problem? I know i can jut set shorter ringtones but this limits what you can use.

This also seems to be a problem on the SPV E650 but in its case at the moment i cant seem to add a new sms tone to the phone (they seem built in and only way i have read is to edit the registry, which seems a bit stupid as you could add new sms tones with earlier SPV Phones) and all the sms tones built in are short and stop quickly so no embarrasement there.

Luckily in both the SPV C550 and SPV E650 cases voice calls when you press the call accept key stop the ringtone playing.

Maybe someone who uses MoDaCo and has these phones can tell me of a setting on the phone or if there is a utility which can be added to the phones to fix this problem.

Thanks everyone any help very gratefully received.

Andrew

About 50% of the time when I copy files (mp3s) to the SD card via Activesync, the connection will drop out. I disconnect the phone then reconnect.
Not really feature gripes, more for actual bugs for the phone.

1. When composing an MMS message and go to capture photo. The default res is 640 x 480 and cannot be changed when going to Menu->Options->Modes. To send a picture of 320 x 240 or smaller you have to use the Camera application and then import the picture into the MMS composer.

2. Also when composing an MMS message and you are selecting the recipient, it does not pick up any other number for that contact apart from the default texting number. Composing normal text message picks up all numbers.

When I want to charge my C550 through USB, do I have to do that on a pc where ActiveSync is installed?

It won't charge with a random pc, but does charge on my with ActiveSync. seems kind of strange to me, because A/C charger is USB-plug as well.
