HTC is best windows phone that are available in market today. Sometime it create network error because of weather or any reason. To solve this problem HTC routers are best options that help to obtain network connection.

I normally use an adapter to let me use a 3.5mm jack to listen to music on my Touch Dual. Yesterday this stopped working. Plugging the adapter in does not cut the sound any more (i.e. the music comes out of the phone speaker, not the headphones). I tried the headphones that came with the phone and the same problem.

From that I conclude that there is a problem with the port - for some reason it is not informing the phone that the headphones have been inserted.

The phone is recharging using the recharger so the port is not completely broken.

Any suggestions?

This is something wierd that happened this morning on my Touch Dual.

I was listening to some music on the SD Card (8Gb card from SanDisk). The track ended and I tried to move to a pod cast I had copied to the file earlier the same morning. Suddenly every application would not recognise the card has having any content except when I asked Settings\Memory\Storage Card where it was still reporting the card as having more than 3Gb on the card (which is about right).

ActiveSync shows nothing.

I have recopied on the podcast onto the card with ActiveSync and it seems to be working.

My questions are:

1. What happened?

2. How do I delete the files I cannot see?

Hi,

Only in the last two or three weeks has this problem developed: my HTC Touch Dual orange notification light blinks even when I've cleared all of my notifications (no missed calls or new texts).

When I go to my message inbox, the bubble icon also appears in the notification tray but when I press it nothing pops up - particularly when I send a text. This makes me wonder whether it's not dismissing the "Message Sent" notification properly...?

My current settings:

- Always on vibrate only

- Missed calls and new texts set to notification light flashes for "No limit"

- Delivery reports off, but I still get the "Message Sent" notification

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have done a hard reset and it did fix it but as soon as I started loading progs on it, it corrupted, haven't been able to pin it down to a particular program yet either.
I've done it!

I've taken the plunge from a mobile phone to a fully fledged PDA! Last week my Graphite decided to die on me forcing me to look to pastures new, a choice between the HTC S370 and the HTC Dual. Well after a visit to the Orange shop :D I handled both :( and Dual it was!

Once she arrived, I fiddled around with the finger flicking for a while and then decided to get down to the real business of seting up my email etc on the device. Windows Vista Ultimate found the device straight off, WMDC gave me a lovely picture of the Touch Dual, and away we go - but wait! I don't want all that email and attachments on my device do I? That's when I discovered the 'Use storage cards where possible' option for messages - something the Graphite and other Smartphones don't have (come on Microsoft) which meant fiddling around with registry keys, 'storage card.bak' and other full stop nonesense. I used to dread having to reset my Graphite :D Point scored to Dual.

After that checkbox well and truly ticked I went for a full on sync with server, nice and smooth, half an hour later we are up and running.

Right then, a few finger flicks later and I discover that the goddam pictures and video options on the touch cube point will only point at the Device, not the Card. Wait no - I can change the Camera to save on the card - then the pictures appear in the Album - aha, the Photo's on the Storage card are stored in a different folder - they are no longer in My Pictures, or My Video, the are now in DCIM>100MEDIA. Quick copy and paste from one to the other and hey presto! All my pictures and now available in finger flicky mode.

That brings me to the key issue - set your touch keyboard options to the 12 key setting by choosing touch keypad. This is the same as the slide keypad (almost)

To make you touch look smooth and plain readable try choosing cleartype from the Screen options and have the text as large as possible.

To keep the Dual running quickly try choosing the 'End programs by tapping X' option in the task manager.

Well at that point I thought about bed, and set my alarm. Repeat Alarm eh? That really is a joke! So a fix was required. Can I choose all the sounds in the alarms options - No - that's because it will only allow WAV format as alarms. Quick fiddle with the Graphite to produce attached file - save it in your Windows folder hurrah! No sleeping in now!

Seriously though, the Touch Dual is a nice device to use, although in my opinion not as 'intuitive' as I'd hoped. I really doubt this is a serious contender for the iPhone as it does not have the appeal to draw people away. It is in the end the little things that count, and the Touch Dual simply doesn't flow straight out the box. You have to work your way through it, which is probaby too much for most users who don't use forums such as these.......

Points to fix;

Touch keypad is replaced by touch keyboard in some menu's? Eh? Did I ask you to do that?

Wake up you little devil! Why must I press your buttons? Shouldn't you have a secret swipe to activate your screen?

New email from the 'quick menu' - not quite!

New email arrives - it's rubbish! Were's the quick delete button?

Select a contact - no touching now, use your buttons.

Select a contact - use that handy keybored

Comm manager, push email, switch on or off. Why Why Why switch peak and off peak? Can I not choose either or both?

Well I really hope I'm being a dumbass and you guys can help me here, and maybe down the line we can solve some of these little but important things. For now, I'm of to stroke my new toy a little more to see what comes out of it.

If it's in standby then it simply sits there and doesn't alert me. Then when I press the button to use the handset, it alerts me to a low battery.

While my Touch Dual was off for repair the lovely people at T-Mo put WM6.1 on it, and since it's been back I've had issues with the battery level dropping 50% overnight, and in once case 90%!

Firstly, it's a brand new battery. I read on another forum that there could be a WM6.1 bug where when hard reset with a partially charged battery WM6.1 screws up and doesn't charge the battery fully as it mis-registers the charge level. So I drained it to critical, hard reset and then charged to full with the device off.

Once it was charged I didn't install anything on it and then managed to get 4 days out of the battery with the phone on during the day, and Exchange ActiveSync running. All was fine. I then recharged it, and set about reinstalling stuff, and now it's started doing it again. I turn of the radio when I go to bed, and leave any apps running, just live I've done with WM5 and WM6, and then in the morning, along with my alarm I get a critical battery notification.

I've tried monitoring the processes running and what CPU they're using and the pull on the battery, but nothing comes up abnormal, apart from once when I found repllog.exe was going on a rampage and stopping the device from sleeping. But the thing that really confuses me is that I can use the phone all day and the battery drain is as I would expect for the usage, but it only plummets overnight when the phone is off.

Anoyone got any ideas, as I'm considering sending it back to T-Mo and getting them to put WM6.0 back on it. I just want the thing to last 2 days like it used to, which isn't exactly spectacular, my partner only charges his Nokia once a fortnight.

I just recently acquired a HTC Touch Dual and really like it but am having a few issues with it. First, I get tskschedule, repllog, and clocknot notification errors. I've noticed a few threads regarding this issue but haven't yet found a solution so any suggestions would be most appreciated. The second problem is that my battery indicator doesn't seem to be working properly, it stays at 90% and doesn't change regardless of how long I use it for. This caused the phone to die on me in the middle of a conversation. So if anyone has an idea on how to fix either of these two issues, that'd be great.

Last week the number five key on my Touch Dual (20-key) stopped working. I duly sent it off to HTC as the device was still under warranty having been purchased only in late January.

Today I got an email back from HTC claiming that the device has suffered water damage and as such is not a warranty repair but will instead cost me the thick end of £280. I asked them on what basis they make this assertion and they tell me that they use a sticker inside the device that changes colour if it gets wet. So I ask them to send me a photo of this sticker. They do so (see attached) and I am stunned to note that a) it is not buried deep inside, but sitting as close to the edge of the device as it could be, on top of the casing for the USB port. Furthermore and the :D to my earlier a) if you look at a Touch Dual, there is a hole over the USB port on the back of the device through which you can actually see the sticker when the back is off. All it would take therefore is a drop of water to be forced in there (maybe making a phone call in the rain for example) and your warranty is totally void. In fact a droplet could even go in to the usb socket and up through the casing and as the sticker is basically blotting paper, it wouldn't take much to force it to change colour.

I have escalated this to senior level with HTC CS (who I have to say are not far short of appalling until you get a native English speaker) and they have changed their tune slightly...but not much. They are now saying that they will replace the keyboard (c£70), but that the device will now be effectively out of warranty and they will not guarantee that it will be free from fault in the future as it might have been if I let them replace the motherboard and the LCD. I contend that this is tantamount to an admission that the fault is not due to water ingress but they refuse to accept this.

They do not seem to accept that the positioning of that sticker is such that it more likely than not gives them an excuse to invalidate the warranty on almost all the devices that come into them. They claim that all their devices have the sticker positioned in the same place and they have a hole over them so that moisture damage can be assessed without opening the handset up. I dispute this as well...I have looked at a Tytn which certainly has no such thing. Can I ask you guys here to have a look at your handsets and let me know two things... is your sticker pink? (particularly interested in hearing from Touch Dual owners on this) and owners of other handsets, can you see your moisture damage alert sticker though any of the holes in the housing when you take the back cover off your device.

Many thanks for your help and I hope this serves as a warning to others as well. For what it's worth, I review tech for a national newspaper as well so they certainly haven't heard the end of this!

Hi,

I have a Touch Plus from T-Mobile UK. I have installed the HTC European ROM onto my device. I cannot download cabs using the built in Internet Explorer browser. Cabs such as Google Maps and YahooGO!

I used to be able to download them with the original T-Mobile UK rom but this rom just downloads a 0Kb file, then says the install has been unsuccessful.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

I have an HTC Touch Dual. I also have a number of Java games. Most of these seem to want you to use the softkeys that are just under the screen on many windows mobiles. However, as you will be aware, this phone does not have physical buttons to press.

I have tried assigning the volume up and down long presses to left softkey and right softkey respectively. These work fine on the Today screen but not with Java.

Anybody have any idea on how to enable/tweak or otherwise get Java to recognise two buttons I can use? I am using the built-in Java VM which is the Esmertec Jbed build 20071017.2.1.

This is really frustrating me as a number of games will start - you simply cannot press the relevant softkey to go to the next page.
