Anyone if there is a WM 6.1 upgrade ROM for the HTC S730?

I have had my S730 for a few days now and have noticed a pretty significant memory issue. It seems that when the device is turned on there is only about 15mb available and with minimal usage there becomes only about 5mb available and then you start to get memory errors when opening new applications.

Is anyone else seeing this? Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks..

Hi at all...

I looked in the pinned topic "Hard Reset your Smartphone", but i don't know, what the "HTC S730" is also called. And with Google i didn't find anything about a hardreset of the S730.

Does anyone in here know, how to do it? Would be fine, if he could tell me :(

And a second question...

When updating the weather-forecast in the HTC Homescreen, the phone always tries the connection via GPRS. But when I'm at home and have my phone connected through WiFi with broadband-internet I want to use the WiFi-Connection to update. Can i force the phone to use Wifi instead of GPRS? Is there a way?

Thx a lot 4 help...

I have just installed a new rom for my S730.

Works good, however my old Æ, Ø, Å (danish letters) dosn't work anymore. Before they worked fine with the fn-key.. I guess it's some registry fix I have to make it work?

Also, is it possible to install some danish dictionary?

In the meantime I installed some T9-dictionary which I can use for writing danish, however it dosn't work with the QWERTY-keyboard.

Any possible fixes?

Hi. We have just purchased 5 of these devices and are experiencing some real problems with the battery life (on each of the devices, not just one of them). With (very) moderate usage and nothing else enabled on the connectivity front besides Activesync (Bluetooth, Wifi etc are turned off) connecting to the exchange server every 15 minutes, we are getting around 8 hours of usage before the battery runs out of juice.

I have just contacted HTC support who told me to turn off Activesync and see how that helps (despite my explaining that's why we got the darn phones, they still me want to do this 'test' before commenting).

The support person didn't want to comment much before I have run this test (which I am currently doing) but did hint that Activesync enabled can cause the type of drainage we are all experiencing. It is when I prompted her to the fact that we cannot be alone in buying these phones for their Exchange Server connectivity and if what she was hinting is true, then HTC are misleading customer by suggesting things like "With push e-mail and super-fast Internet connectivity on your phone, you can be sure to keep in touch no matter where you are in the world" and "Keep up to date with latest e-mails" on their web site.

All in all VERY disappointing. Which business phone (which HTC position this as) runs out of juice in just under 8 hours of moderate usage!!! Again, that's with ActiveSync enabled - I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow after turning it off.

Anybody else having these issues!?

I currently own the SPV C500 and have been considering the S730 but am wary of it's size & weight.

I have a few questions please:

1. I presume the S730 is the latest HTC Smartphone with a Qwerty keyboard?

2. How much bigger is the S730 to the SPV C500?

3. How much more does the S730 weigh to the SPV C500?

4. Is the battery life comparable to the SPV C500?

I've looked up online the last three questions but I'd like to hear some "real world" answers, as looking at a bunch of measurements and weights never gives me a "true" reflection of a product.

Regarding the size: I wouldn't want the S730 if for example it was the same size as the SPV E200. It needs to comfortably fit in a jeans pocket with wallet.

Thanks

Hi, I'm the proud new owner of a HTC s730, and as its my first smartphone/pda, I dont have anything to compare it to, but so far I'm really impressed about it.

The thing is I've been looking for a decent homescreen that's compatible with the s730. I prefer functionality over eye-candy, and I'm a huge fan of the facade plugin with schedule and tasks (Which I am using currently).

An ideal homescreen for me would include some of the following:

* A calendar

* Schedule+Tasks (Preferably both on the same screen)

* #Sms/#mails/#Missed calls

* Profile (Normal/vibrate etc.)

The best I've found so far is DrBlow's calendar homescreen, but can't seem to get it to work on my s730. It can be found here (If I'm allowed to post such links):

http://forums.sbsh.net/index.php?showtopic...art=#entry89448

If anyone has any cool screens that's compatible with the s730 I would be very interested. I'll of course look some more around and post in here if I find any.

Greetings to any fellow s730 owners out there! :(

Hi =)

I've noticed something rather annoying... It seems to be impossible to make the phone both play a tune and vinrate when someone calls. It works fine with just having one of them but I'd like both. Like when you're on the subway and theres too much noise to hear the phone - or when youre home and you have the phone in another room so you cant feel it vibrating.

Sure, I could change profiles everytime I walk on the bus and when I get indoors - but all(/most?) other phones manage to both vibrate and play a tune so why should it be different with the s730?

Is there a hidden switch somewhere that can fix it? =)

Thanks

 I ordered a brand new replacement LCD screen on ebay and just finished installing it. To my utter dismay the screen is still completely white!! :D It seems to respond to my touch (it goes brighter when I touch it), and it turns on and off w/ the power switch, but there is nothing but white on the screen. I can receive calls just fine.

I just got a HTC S720 from Telus Mobility under a 3 year contract. I have been having some issues with it the past couple of days. I receive multiple Windows errors. One of them was a "MMQCE.exe" error, Another one was "cprog.exe" error after the "cprog.exe" error the whole phone just crashed. I had to pull the battery for it to shutdown. I was thinking of formating this PDA and then enabling the GPS and WiFi functions that Telus has disabled. But the person who sold the plan & PDA to my parents told them that I can't remove any data or such from the phone or plan for a year min. I'm not sure if this is a load of B.S. on telus part because I never herd of such a rule. I have reviewed the contract and no where in it does it say about not being able to remove anything from the phone. The telus sales person wrote on the top of the contract "DO NOT REMOVE DATA FROM PLAN FOR MIN. 1 Year" so I'm not sure. Can anyone give me guidance on what I should do?
