I,m a complete newbie and have been playing around with my phone, I went on to install Windows Mobile 7 but don't like it one bit could some kind person tell me how to go back to the Windows Mobile 6.5, I would be eternally grateful for any help, thanks again in advance of some kind person giving me the lowdown.

Been a while since I've posted on here, HD2 forums are a bit dead compared to xda! I was a daily visitor here back in the omnia i900 days! On those forums it was pretty widely accepted that the best next phone to get was an HD2, it was way ahead of its time and is still a great phone by todays standards, almost 2 years after it was launched. However, my contract ends in at the end of this year and I have no idea what to get next? What is the next phone that everyone will move to, what will be the next phone thats totally ahead of its time?

EDIT: Just to let you know, Ive been using Android on this device since you could run it off the SD card, and then used NAND roms once they hit the street. I do not want another windows phone, they just dont compare to android!

I've recently got an LG Fathom and it is working great except for the GPS. Since it is a Verizon device, GPS data is encrypted (hopefully within the driver).

Since I use it outside the US, Verizon navigator is not an option for me.

I know there is a thing called Valhalla GPSServer, but I couldn't find a way to make it work. I hope that if I replace the original driver files with files from another device's ROM with the same chip and OS (SnapDragon QSD8x50, WM6.5.3 23127) I could make it work with iGO (That's why I created this topic here). or anything else than VZ Nav.

I'd be happy if somebody could upload the GPS related files from the \Windows folder with the same chip and OS. (Maybe a GPS related registry dump too) I think the OS build/version might not be that important.

General opinion is that there is no official Croatian MUI for windows mobile.

Officially, it is not correct! It exists and was made by Samsung for Samsung Omnia (SGH-i900). Rom name was i900SHKK2, as far I can remember.

Problem is that Omnia was running on windows mobile 6.1, and its mui isnt very compatibile with wm 6.5. Therefore, it was necessary to almost completely rebuild it and adapt it for windows mobile 6.5.

NOTE: these translated files (device independent windows file) are based on latest official Leo Ship rom 3.14.479.2 (build 21913) and I doubt that its compatible with other, wm 6.5.3 and 6.5.5 builds.

All 041a.mui files are signed with sdkcerts2015, and it will be auto-installed during installation.

About installation, I have made simple interactive installation script, inspired by XDA_UC project and based on MortScript and some other useful tools I found (thanks to all good programers who made it).

Installation script is named (what else than) "Install HR_MUI" and it is inside HRMUI folder. Just run it!

Also, instalation script will ask you if you want to install myphone ver 1.6, cause translated files doesnt work with build-in myphone 1.1 version.

Installation package folder must be unpacked on the root of Storage Card, with one HRMUI folder, with subfolders Backup,engine and MUI, and scripts in it. This is very important, if installation folder is not where script expects it to be - it wont work!

Also, before installation turn off (disable) HTC Sense in Settings-All Settings-Today-Items or manila files may not be copied properly (they must overwrite original ones).

After installation HTC Sense will be auto-enabled.

So, installation script will first make a backup of original files that will be overwritten during installation (manila files, templates and opera lang&help files) - in case you want to restore it,then it will try to temporary disable manila and it will install croatian translated files:

- folder "wm" : *.041a.mui - these are wm6.5 device independent translations(could be used on other wm65 com2 devices)

- folder "htc" : *.041a.mui (hd2 specific translations), *-041a.html (translated notificaions messages) and *_manila ( english (en-us) manila

files translated to croatian)

- folder "opera": language.lng, start.html,index.html, troubleshoot.html .. - opera translated files

- folder "templates": *.dot, .dotx,.... translated templates for Office Mobile

- startinfo.reg : Start Menu translations - done throw registry keys, not by real renaming of start menu shortcuts. Therefore, it will work only

with original start menu entries layout.

If install script (for some reason) fails, you can still do it manually by copying files from \Storage Card\HRMUI\MUI\... subfolders into:

-all files from MUI subfolders (*.041a.mui, *_manila, *.041a.html files) into \Windows folder on device

-english.lng file in \Windows\Opera9\profile\locale and others (start,index,troubleshoot) in

\Windows\Opera9\profile\help\en

-template files to \My Documents\Templates folder

You will need some file explorer (e.g. Resco, total commander) that supports overwriting system files for manual installation. Dont forget to install sdkcerts.

After install script finishes, it will reboot the device.

On next boot, you should have localized HTC HD2 on croatian language.

NOTE: I have done this in good intentions, I wont be responsible for any damage you make to you device or losing your data.

In worst scenario, hard reset will do all job. So, do a backup of your data before doing this (just in case)!

Just this past few days I noticed I cant install/uninstall anything on my device.

I tried manually deleting the files, running cabs again, even hooking up to the computer.

When I try to delete, rename, move or copy files I get a "write protection" error.

Is there anything I can do with programs I have installed to fix the problem.

Programs I have (which may help) are:

Dutty's task manager

htcAddicts cleanRAM

I have a registry editor

Clear Temp.

Im afraid to hard reset in case I cant reinstall these programs.

Please help.

New HD2 T-Mobile owner here, after my Omnia was stolen. Smooth ride so far, the phone is awesome!! Since there's no point in listing all the things that make this phone great, let's go to the bad ones.

1. Mediocre call quality - yes, this pisses me off. This is a phone to make calls, first and foremost. I'm not talking about signal bars, as that can be easily manipulated through software, but actual call sound. Regardless of my location, it sounds like s***, breaking up, etc. My brother's cheap ass Nokia (on the same carrier, same location, same family plan) works every time. Reminds me of the "can you hear me now..." ad campaign. If all the other features weren't so awesome, I'd return it.

2. Tinny speaker sound - it's sad that such an awesome phone has such a crappy speaker. My BB Bold from work is older and less sophisticated, but it does have an awesome speakerphone. The HD2's earpiece speaker isn't much better. It's too soft, and if you set it to loudest setting, you hear some distortion in high frequencies.

3. On wake-up, screen takes about a second to start responding to the touch - Not a really big deal, but kind of annoying when you just want to quickly pick up your phone and unlock it to check something out.

4. No dedicated camera shutter button - all reviews mentioned that, but I don't really care, as I'm not a big photography buff. But the on-screen shutter, coupled with the massive screen and the phone's thinness, is a real bitch to use.

5. Oh, and did I mention mediocre call quality???

My coworker have HTC HD and he went to savna. After living the savna he put his mobile bettwen towel which was wet. Now the light on upper side of phone the light after turning on doesn't stop shining.

What could be wrong? Should i carry my phone to serviser or can i fixed at home?

I like my daughter's Orange San Fran and Android but I have been unable to get it to install (I suspect my radio version is wrong). Looking through the forum is very confusing as there are many roms, radio version etc.

Don't want to brick it but would appreciate a 'cleaner' rom void of any T-mobile branding if possible. I also seem to have a pretty old Rom compared to 3.14 but it is the only one I can get from T-Mobile.

FIXES & OTHER THINGS

- A work around for the green tint in pictures is to go to camera settings and under "white balance" choose "Incandescent". EDIT: V2.0 doesn't have this problem.

Installation

- Extract build to your desktop

- Place "Android" folder on the root of your SD card

- With keypad lights on, run "CLRCAD.exe" then "haret.exe"

- First boot will take up to 10-15 minutes unless you used a data.img below

- I recommend waiting 5 minutes before unlocking the screen the first time on first boot. Everything seems to go a lot smoother that way. You may experience one com.phone.android force close, this is normal and you should only see once.

I have an issue with my HD2 that it doesn't always seem to turn the screen of when in call. It's got a light detector I belive so it should go off when you hold it up to your ear but it seems a random.

It's getting really annoying cutting off calls and such with my ear!

Anyone else have this issue or any ideas how to get round it?

Has anyone had (or better still know how to fix) problems with the clock since the clocks changed?

I was all excited when I went to bed on Sunday to see that the clock had indeed already put itself back, and a bit more gutted in the morning when it woke me up and I realised that it put itself back again after that.

Since then it's been putting itself forward and back seemingly at random, and the last straw was when I looked at my phone just now and saw that it had gone forward 5 hours.

Any suggestions?

First Let me say, Everyone has different taste. This is why we have so many different ROM's to choose from. Most all of the ROM's here are good and I find it just comes done to personal preference. Some people like black others don't, some like ROM's ready to go out of the box, others don't and want to configure themselves etc etc.

This ROM is made with some changes from the stock ROM. It uses the Latest MS builds and a few customizations. With some of my personal start menu organization. I like a clean start Menu. I have made some tweaks for speed and stability. I find that our HD2 is already plenty fast for any user so there is no need to cut up and gut out our ROM's to gain some small amount of unnoticeable improvement. I also like to give users the choice in how they like to configure there ROM which is why I use Preset Installer. There will be Many programs you can install from Preset Installer instead of having them built in. I have added a few apps, and a few removed. You can load them from cabs found here on XDA or Through Preset Installer. Or let me know and I can provide it for you.

** Before you FLASH this ROM-YOU MUST HAVE HSPL2 I recommend 2.08 HSPL. See this thread for HSPL and instructions. Please we owe it to Donate to DarkForces Team HardSPL by bepe and Cotulla. Without our HSPL were would you be? ;)

How to install?:

Copy the Extendir folder found in download to the root of your storage card. Flash the ROM as usual, Soft Reset, then go to Applications folder in Start Menu and select Preset Installer. When Preset Installer comes up you can click next and install the programs or utilities you want by checking the boxes for each program. You can Also choose from one of the Preset Configuration if available for that version. Then Click next and then install. NOTE: A box with a bold check will install automatically to Device, if it has a faded check this means you will be prompted for install location. This is needed for programs that require user intervention like FingerKeyboard Google Mapsetc. Don't let device go to sleep during install!!. Device will reboot after installation. You can remove any of the programs as needed from the Remove programs in System. I have made some new .cab files with shortcuts to my Start Menu folders structure. So if you try to use these cabs on another ROM it likely will not work. Read the install instructions inside the Extendir folder. WARNING do not copy or redistribute any of the cabs found in my Extendir Folder. I name them with LIA to distinguish them as being modified for my ROM. Some of these apps are proprietary and can cause trouble if posted somewhere else.

Known Bugs:

Theme not applied fully after Flash: Vary Rare but if you get a default background and the LIA Theme does not seem to be applied just change to another theme and back to LIA Theme, then soft reset and everything should be ok.
