Hi,

I have a Omnia 7 with a very recent firmware so the published generic codes on the internet don't work to unlock the phone. Phone is currently locked to orange and they want 20 quid to unlock it. I tried a few of the cheap online lockers but they have only come back with generic codes to temporarily unlock the phone which don't work and anyway I want a permanent unlock solution.

Anyone know a free or fairly cheap unlock solution for the Omnia 7.

Thanks,

Al

Hi,

I bought one of these phones yesterday and the main 2 things I use MS Operating system devices on have been discontinued.

a) Activsync does not work so I can't sync my works calender up from OutLook

:P Cab files don't work, in fact I can't even transfer any files apart from Video and Music using Zune.

I'm very unhappy.

Hi folks

Tearing my hair out!

I've been flashing devices for years and never had a brick. Now I've got one and as far as I can figure out, it's not my fault!

Standard retail unbranded ROM (got the phone through an employee discount scheme direct from a distributor). Got the nodo update and it failed with the usual problem.

Built a jig using a micro-USB breakout and it went straight into download mode. Applied the Samsung boot fix which seemed to work but now, the phone is in a constant reboot loop. I get the Omnia 7 logo cycling endlessly - even when I use the jig.

Vol up + camera + power does nothing except go straight into this loop. Vol down + camera + power either goes into download or reset, the image is on screen for a fraction of a second before it goes into this damn loop again so I can't see which.

Anything else I can do before I try to deal with the distributor or heaven forbid, Samsung directly?

Thanks for even the smallest crumb of hope

Cheers

Hi!

I am considering buying this phone, but there's something I found on youtube while I was searching for video samples:

a comment says:

"shazad13

It is not a frame rate problem....if you keep the camera stationary and capture a video of a moving object/people....you will notice no frames are dropped.....the problem is due to the abnormally high speed shutter speed....Samsung really need to fix this in a firmware update." -3 months ago

Are there any fixes for this yet?

Finally bit the bullet and got myself an Omnia 7, very pleased with it so far.

At home I have got a DLNA server running with all my media on it that I use to stream to the PS3, computers, TV etc, just wondering if there was a way that I could see the DLNA server from the phone so I could play music that way, rather than syncing it via Zune?

Had a quick look around and can't find an app that will do it, but perhaps I am missing something?

Hi,

Nearly every time when I call someone, he/she can't hear me at all (but I can hear correctly), and I need to call again. The second call always works well. As you can imagine, it's extremely annoying. I am quite sure this started only 2 days ago, and it worked well 2 weeks ago when I bought the phone.

It's a non branded phone, French version.

Any clue on this? Thanks.

I have had my Omnia 7 since November and still have not received any updates. I know friends who have the same phone on Orange and they have had the 2 updates.

Is it just T mobile being slow? :) I had thought as T mobile and Orange are linked they would have rolled out the updates at the same time.

Has anyone in the UK on T mobile had the official updates?

I know I can get my phone unlocked and updates through other sources but I am not in a position to do this.

Hi guys

Got an issue using my Omnia 7 with headphones (usually while at the gym so lots of movement).

I've got two different sets of headphones displaying differnet issues:

* Samsung supplied headphones - work OK but on occassion the volume will be turned down to zero. Turning the volume back up while the headphones are plugged in doesn't work, it sticks at zero (although you can see the volume indicator flick between 1 and zero which imples it's turning up but being turned straight back down). If you unplug the headphones then the volume turns up but as soon as you plug the headphones back in then it returns back to zero.

* Sennheiser headphones - with these plugged in the songs pause, moves to next song, goes to previous; they are all over the place! Also, a few times I've plugged these in I've had a high-volume buzzing noise - I've had to reset the phone to get rid of this.

It's rather odd behaviour and doesn't happen all the time with either headphones. The Sennheiser are my preferred choice, but they seem more problematical and with the issues I've had with the Samsung-supplied ones there seems little point in purchasing new headphones at this stage.

Has anyone else had any issues? If not, then I'll return the unit for replacement but felt it was worth checking here first!

Thanks

Paul

In the upper green box it's written:

Arm9 FATAL error or Force RAM Dump Mode !!

if the error message exist, ARM9 FATAL error!!

the SAMSUNG logo in the middle

in light blue :

Connect the device to PC and Dump Memory

in the red box :

MOD fs_pm.c 01988

DebugDump Base offset = 0x2e75d400

this is not my main phone and i'm using it to test WP7 , I never used anything on it except Zune ...

I downloaded "I8700_WP7_Downloader_Ver_7.03_For_Retail_Device__Product_Force_Select__.exe" and some roms to overwrite phone content

this software detects the phone correctly but cannot copy Roms on it , it says "this device is not retail device"

If someone got a solution how to dump its memory and completely erase it , in order to flash it with some of the ROMs that I have or any other exit to this situation.

Recently got an Omnia 7 and am loving the phone, all seems to be setup OK, and can sync when plugged in to the PC via USB, but cannot get it to connect using WiFi Sync.

The phone connects to the WiFi OK, and it would appear that the Zune software picks up the wireless network correctly (the PC is wired, but connects to the same network as the wireless). I have put the phone on charge and left it, but nothing seems to happen - what should I expect, does the Zune software start when the phone connects to sync over the wireless?

I did notice that it was mentioned somewhere that WiFi syncing does not work on a 'Work' network - what is meant by this, I am running a domain at home, could that be the problem?

Cheers,
