I think it is dead now, it is like there is no battery inside. it doesn't do anything, no led flashes, no screen, nothing at all.

What should I do now, return it for service?

look for someone that has a ort jtag box, are there any other alternatives.

What did I do wrong during flashing? When my device is repaired, i still want to root it to install CM10, there will be a M release. I installed v20n_00,

I unpacked the kdz with the rom converter and choose to patch it with cwm. the phone is bought in the Netherlands, did I use the wrong kdz?

I have my optimus black for a few days and would like to know how is the battery life of yours? I left it charging over night and unpluged it at 9 am and now (15.13) battery graph displays 72%. I am on 2G only and used wi-fi for about 30 minutes and just 15 minutes calls.

i previously owned an samsung omnia 2 windows mobile phone with a wide selections of roms of every kind to play with. for ob i only find about cyanogen rom and nova rom.

i am looking for performance and maximizing the battery. i read about nova that is a light rom with a lot of tweaks but it is based on android 2.2. on the other hand i read that android 2.3 is a little bit faster and better for the battery and cyanogen is based on 2.3 and it has more potentials for tweaks than nova. what is your opinion? is there any other rom that i should consider?

and one final thing i want to ask. i read that with smart flash u can flash to the stock rom. from what i read it can unbrick your phone or replace the custom rom if i don't like it (in that impossible case!!!). i just want someone to confirm that.

I've stripped it right down removing all the boards but can't get past the metal plate to the screen underneath. Plenty of digitizers on ebay but need to work out how to get the screen out. I know it might be taped down with 3M tape which could need some heat - but first hand experience is better than guess work.

Anyone have any suggestions or links for help please?

One question: I already used Android, with costum roms from were, for my old Zte San Francisco.

In this case, I want to use original Roms only, but i want/need a rooted phone for SuperUser permissions.

What can I do? I just need to Root? If I Root the phone can i upgrade normally to 2.3 (will be released soon),via LG update program? And can I use apps that needs Superuser acess or I need an extra aplication ?

I just recieved a fairly new lg optimus black from ebay and everything is fine apart from the earpiece not working.

People can hear me on phone calls but I cant hear them, I rang my voicemail and I cant hear that either.

Any advice?

It seems that either this is wrong, and the device is not in debug mode, or my rules file is not configured correctly for ADB (I've tried various rules files tutorials, and there seems to be a different answer everywhere you look; talk about confusing!!!). As I cannot get into the phone, I cannot check that debug is enabled (talk about catch 22!).

ADB does not see the device, and I just want to get this reset, cache wiped etc. Does anyone have any ideas (please read the post thoroughly, so you don't suggest things I may have tried :)).

First, my phone is rooted using Gingerbreak. Then i used Titanium Backup to uninstall all kinds of LG apps i don't use, like Weather, Finance, Carhome etc. I did this days after i got the phone so it's a while since then. So over time i did these things....

I installed all sorts of task killers and free system monitor apps to see what was causing bad battery. I had also installed juice defender and a program called CPU Tuner that adjusts CPU after battery life, so it uses less CPU as the battery get's lower. None of this was working and i was getting worse battery if anything. 10 hours of idle and the battery was down to 75%

So what i did 2 days ago, was buy an app called System Panel by NextApp which is a resource monitor tool that can record what is going on in the background without using much battery. Next i started uninstalling apps like CPU tuner, Juice defender and even Titanium Backup. Then i kept moitoring use and noticed that the Battery widget was always using the CPU a little bit and also Email, so i removed the Battery widget and closed the Email task. I then charged the phone fully and went out to do some business. When i got home like 5 hours later, to my surprise, the phone was at 96% battery. It has used almost no battery even though i had used the camera and taken 3 pictures, made a couple of phone calls and had 3G enable (data was disable though). So i looked at the records of the monitoring from SystemPanel and after i uninstalled TitanumBackup, removed Battery widget and killed Email, the CPU activity was much lower, and only thing using CPU was background system files.

So now, after 21 hours, my phone is at 80% battery after light use and it's only draining very slowly. I've made phone calls, used camera, used Wifi, used Market to update apps and download and install apps.

I highly recommend you remove battery widget and any other LG widgets or apps that you really don't need. It seems there is nothing wrong with the phone itself, it's a matter of not using bad apps or widgets that is draining the battery. I am very happy now with my battery use. And if you have 3$ to spare, i can highly recommend System Panel.

If you want to know anything, just ask.

"VOLUME DOWN + G BUTTON + POWER". the phone get into "SAFE MODE".

basicaly the phone starts normaly but if you check you menu the apps that you have installed dissapear the phone starts like a factory reset and appears a note in the left down corner saying "modo seguro"translated"safe mode ". and i installed a new app from the market he installs but didn appear in the menu and if i launch the app from the market the option "open" isn´t avaliable. just chek the images bellow.

if you have a bricked or malfunction in your OB is a good chance to try this out..

And Knzo, the author of NOVA ROM, makes a custom kernel today with more gobernors and tweaks for performance, see in XDA.

I've upgrade my LG Black to version v11b. As it's Bouygue version, I've manage to change the bootanimation (\System\media) when turn on the phone.

But there's also an animation with Bouygue logo when turning off the phone and I don't know where and how I can change this.

Does anyone know more about it ?
