<p>Here is a collection of stock firmware for ZTE Blade III. If you find any missing/updated firmware, please post it to this thread. Updates are available at <a class="bbc_url" href="http://www.ztedevices.com/support/selectproduct.html?type=software" rel="external nofollow">ZTE support site</a>.<br><br><span style="color:#ff0000;">Do not use ClockWorkMod to flash stock firmware!</span> You'll find update.zip and installation instructions within each packages. Inside each update.zip you'll also find the stock recovery (recovery.img) compatible with each firmware.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">How to restore stock recovery</span></strong></p>
<div> </div>
<div>You can only flash stock firmware updates with a stock recovery image that has the same internal product name. If you're trying to install stock firmware with incompatible stock recovery, you'll get an error message and installations fails (e.g. 'assert failed: getprop("ro.product.name") == "P772N10"'). You'll find stock recovery (recovery.img) compatible with each firmware inside each update.zip.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>1. Download stock firmware that you want to install from ZTE support site</div>
<div>2. Unpack stock firmware package with your favourite zip tool (you'll find PDF installation instructions and an actual update.zip)</div>
<div>3. Open update.zip with your favourite zip tool and copy recovery.img to a place you'll find it</div>
<div> </div>
<div>There's three alternative ways to flash a recovery image (stock or custom) all described in <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://www.modaco.com/topic/360389-recovery-clockworkmod-6038-for-zte-blade-iii/" rel="external nofollow">ClockWorkMod thread</a>.</div>

<div><strong>ClockWorkMod:</strong></div>

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	I have a ZTE Blade 3 with stock ROM from a local operator in my country.
</p>

<p>
	The devices started to show a lot of problems recently:
</p>

<ul><li>
		Settings are not saved at all (when I set some setting and then re-enter the menu, it's rolled back to what it was before).
	</li>
	<li>
		Not able to have *ANY* connectivity (no cellular data, no WiFi, cannot send/receive files with Bluetooth)
	</li>
	<li>
		The device is recognized on Windows with USB, but I cannot browse the device as it looks empty in explorer.
	</li>
	<li>
		The device isn't listed on "adb devices" (probably because "USB Debugging" setting isn't saved as all other settings).
	</li>
	<li>
		Plenty of "force close" and other error messages from many user and system apps showing up all the time.
	</li>
</ul><p>
	I can enter "FTM" mode and download mode (with black screen and red led light), but also then the device isn't listed on "adb devices".
</p>

<p>
	It seems that I can install an "update.zip", and that's also the only way I can enter  recovery mode.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I suspect it's a hardware issue, like a corrupt EMMC or some other internal problem.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="line-height:1.6;">My target now is to backup everything I can, and then attempt to format and re-install stock ROM from scratch, hoping it's a software issue after all.</span>
</p>

<p>
	The problem is I can't install any backup application due to lack of connectivity, and neither install APKs that I put on the SD card due the inability to tick "Trust unknown sources" (as I said, settings are not being saved).
</p>

<p>
	I tried to create a custom "update.zip" with "updater-script" that pushes APKs to "/system/app", but no matter how I sign it (with "signapk.jar" or copying "META-INF" folder from a stock ROM), it always shows me "Signature verification failed" or "Whole-file signature verification failed".
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm about to give up and try to "Wipe data / factory reset" (I'm not even sure it will work).
</p>

<p>
	Before I do it, can anyone please guide me what can I do at this point in order to backup my app data and messages?
</p>

<p>
	Maybe I must use a special and specific ".pk8" and ".pem" key files in order to sign "update.zip" for the ZTE Blade 3? So far I used the test keys from Google and self-created keys by me.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance,
</p>

<p>
	Meir
</p>

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	My phone is a ZTE Blade III purchased in France that had been running a version of Cyanogenmod for 2 years without a problem. I was just using it normally, just installed this mod when I got it and never tampered again with its hardware or software. Yesterday I plugged my phone to charge, saw the red light as usual, and went to bed. During the night I happen to wake up, see the green light meaning it's fully charged, and sleep again. Today, as I wake up the phone has no light, I unplug it and try to power it up but it won't. Tried to keep the power on button for several seconds (sometimes the phone would just not power up and this would make it power up), doesn't work. So as I heard about hard reset, soft reset etc, I try to find this kind of information for my phone on internet and end up on modaco where it seems most questions about this phone are being answered. So far I tried power and + for a minute, power and - for a minute, power and + and - for a minute, then I reinstalled the driver package on my computer, and tried holding + and - while plugging the USB cord with or without battery, all these don't work for me. Plugging the phone to the charger has no effect, no light. It looks like the device is not powered at all. Basically it is the definition of a brick.
</p>

<p>
	Is it a brick ? Or is there a way to revive it ?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for any help !
</p>

<p>
	PS : interestingly, when I plug it to USB, a RELINK HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM5) device appears in my "Printers and Devices" menu on Windows, but I guess it's just USB hardware on the phone and it  doesn't mean the rest of the hardware is OK..

I am using the ZTe blade image flasher but i need to find the correct firmware.</p><p>
Anyone know if there is a tool or a backup of a blade iii firmware to flash?</p><p>

Is it possible to unlock Blade 3, so I can use other SIM cards, via QXDM or any other free method? I don't have Sigmakey, and I dont want to pay for the unlock. </p><p>
Can you explain, where is the carrier info for the lock saved, is it in NVRam or somewhere else? I made a backup via QPST so I can preserve the IMEI.</p><p></p><p>

	This ROM is based on official <a href="http://www.miui.com/getrom.php?r=49" rel="external nofollow">ZTE N880E MIUI</a>. Funny thing is that N880E MIUI builds are based on the CM10 device sources that I've released, so thanks to me. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@14.0.2/assets/72x72/3f.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="?"><br /><br /><a data-fileid="88020" href="//cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-95079800-1369134269.png" rel=""><img alt="Screenshot_2013-05-21-12-10-41.png" data-fileid="88020" src="https://cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-95079800-1369134269_thumb.png" /></a> <a data-fileid="88021" href="//cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-80226700-1369134287.png" rel=""><img alt="Screenshot_2013-05-21-12-11-34.png" data-fileid="88021" src="https://cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-80226700-1369134287_thumb.png" /></a> <a data-fileid="88022" href="//cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-05179400-1369134305.png" rel=""><img alt="Screenshot_2013-05-21-13-55-19.png" data-fileid="88022" src="https://cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-05179400-1369134305_thumb.png" /></a> <a data-fileid="88023" href="//cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-42930500-1369134325.png" rel=""><img alt="Screenshot_2013-05-21-12-11-15.png" data-fileid="88023" src="https://cdn-content.modaco.com/monthly_05_2013/post-834050-0-42930500-1369134325_thumb.png" /></a>

</p>

<ul><li>
		fixed wifi and bluetooth (N880E has Broadcom wifi/bt, we have Atheros/Qualcomm)
	</li>
	<li>
		added <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin" rel="external nofollow">Google Keyboard</a>
	</li>
	<li>
		added Play Store
	</li>
	<li>
		removed Chinese MIUI apps
	</li>
	<li>
		used Blade III CM10 kernel (<a href="https://github.com/KonstaT/android_kernel_zte_msm7x27a" rel="external nofollow">source</a>)
	</li>
	<li>
		used Blade III <a href="https://github.com/KonstaT/proprietary_vendor_zte/tree/jellybean/atlas40" rel="external nofollow">proprietaries</a>
	</li>
</ul><p>
	Everything should work to CM10 standards except FM radio. Don't expect anything to be fixed (fix it yourself). I don't plan to use/support this ROM. It was just something I played around with for couple of hours. I just thought I'd share it because it's been requested several times and it seems to work well enough.

	I have to ask... Am I the only one who has problems when using this device with CM mods and MTP. For some reason most of the time, when I connect it to a PC  - I can see the phone (connected) but there is no storage card shown. This doesn't happen only with original ROM, but with all CM Mods based on KonstaT's work (for me at least) it does.<br /><br />
	So what I wanna know is anyone else having such an issue (because if not, then the problem is from my USB ports... either does on my laptop or the one on the device)

<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	People cannot hear me through the on-board mic (normal phone use) but can through Bluetooth headset. <img alt="Smiley Sad" border="0" src="https://community.giffgaff.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif" title="Smiley Sad"></p>

<p>
	Skype is the same.
</p>

<p>
	The funny thing is the Voice Recorder works OK, so it can't be the microphone.
</p>

<p>
	I have reset the phone but unfortunately that didn't resolve the problem
</p>

<p>
	Anyone know if this is a common problem or fix or is it permanent.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks...
</p>
