Guest lenraphaelcpa Posted July 26, 2004 Report Share Posted July 26, 2004 smartphone 02 synched ok w exchange 03. now that i've installed wm 03, i need some help figuring out the choices of connecting to the exchange server. 1. appears that now there's a built in vpn client in the phone os? i assume that's only compatible w msft software vpn on the server side. ie. if using a hardware firewall at server, the smartphone vpn can't tunnel thru? 2. wm supports ssl. a. is this redundant if using vpn to synch b. if not using vpn, is it accurate to say that you would you use ssl to encrypt transmissions including logins, but ssl doesnt otherwise make it harder for someone to hack into your server? ie. you're still relying on basic NT password security after any ip filtering your firewall provided?
