Guest muff
jaffa cakes are actually cakes, not biscuits - believe it or not there was a HUGE legal look into this as it affects how it is sold A biscuit goes soft when it has "gone off" whereas a cake goes hard Edited May 20, 2005 by muff

Guest drblow
Interstingly the jaffa cake debate also involved the fact that cakes are subject to less tax than biscuits! I voted 'other' coz my fav biscuit of all time is the humble breakaway!! ;)
Guest Disco Stu
jaffa cakes are actually cakes, not biscuits - believe it or not there was a HUGE legal look into this as it affects how it is sold <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As an accountant, may I just clarify that the legal challenge was over the VAT treatment of the said comestible. It was held that Jaffa Cakes are in fact a cake, and therefore subject to VAT at the standard rate, which is currently 17.5%. Biscuits are consdered to be Food and therefore are subject to VAT at the zero rate.

Guest Samsonite
i want to make a complaint about these new-fangled caramel chocolate biscuit bombs... One bite and its stringy caramel all over ones smoking jacket as well as a shower of chocolate covered crumbs that melt in a blink and smear like poo when wiped away... I'm not impressed
