My i-Mate SP5 mini review :)

Just had this phone delivered this morning ;)

As seen above on the left is my previous phone which is the Orange SPV E200. I changed over to Vodafone due to Orange not offering a decent enough tariff for me.

Vodafone's GPRS packages aren't bad compared to Orange's as they offer 250 texts with my phone which alternatively can be used as 4.5MB of GPRS instead if you don't text :D

Hopefully the Wi-Fi will able to work in the Universities hot spots!

In comparison to my old phone:

Advantages

1. First Smartphone with Windows Mobile 5.0

2. Much faster

3. Smaller overall, thickness, height compared to my E200 (I was expecting it to be a bit smaller)

4. Better sound quality

5. No Phone networks stock this phone yet

6. Wi-Fi

7. Fantastic screen in comparison with my E200 (bigger, much brighter and sharper)

8. MiniSD expansion which the phone can be used as a mediaplayer

9. Includes a case for the phone

10. Best looking smartphone on the market!

Disadvantages

1. New Windows Mobile 5.0 doesn't seem to be much of an improvement but it offers easier navigation through the menus

2. Poor headphones

3. No cradle unlike the SPV E200 which came with one

4. Not many software/games are compatible due to new screen resolution

5. Feels very plastic but it's lighter than the E200. It's a bit bigger than the C500 from what I've heard

6. Camera isn't much of an improvement which I'm not fussed at

7. No MiniSD card bundled

8. Price, best to get these phones with a contract

My best phone up to date and I'm looking forward to a new version of Skype for Windows Smartphone hopefully featuring voice calls.
