What's the compatibility of this emulator ?

I use it on my Pocket PC, but most of the time when i open a rom i see a black screen and i will need to restart my Pocket PC.

Anyone know a solution for this or will it be a compatibility problem ?

Some games work btw

@Sly123

Sound is to be improved soon. And Z80 emulation is also to be added.

@kevinsephiroth,Poolkv

Well, it is true that some games are not supported. Maybe you can try more games, and if still failed, I may write a test program for you to diagnose where the problem lies.

if sound will get better it would be perfect, cause it seems that sound dont reduce the speed, or only a little bit. really good work!

For start all roms should be in a .zip format

Sorry, I dont get it. If I go to Options and the keys, there is only the possibility to config the buttons. When I press down and left nothing happens.

I always leave them packed in zip format.

They still won't work.

I think it's because of this emulators compatibility.

Because Parallax his version works with most roms.

But this emulator has speed improvements which i like very much.

Masterall do you already know what the problem is ?

Is this because of the compatibility what i suggested ?

I have the same problem with this port as with the other ports, games run too fast for a few seconds before locking up, then running smooth, then locking up. Oddly enough, the original PicoDrive works great.

I'm working on the z80 now, the new version may be ready not long.

@Poolkv

The emulator compatibility seems good, most games I tested work well but sound.

Do almost all games crash on your PPC or most of them?

z80? is it an archive name such as rar or zip (or 7z) ??

didn't understand.... more compatibility ok.

but will sound possible with most of the roms? cause sound doesn't appears to slower the emulator. ;)

Masterall, great job on this emulator! I didn't know it existed until today. I was using the other version of PicoDrive that didn't have sound. This one appears to have sound with a lot of games (although there are some, like Dick Tracy where there was no sound). I have a 2125 Smartphone and it runs at full speed almost perfectly (although I overclocked my phone up to 264 Mhz). Keep up the good work and keep working on that sound. I'll be looking forward to updates from this one!

Oh yeah and kevinsephiroth, I had the same problem with the blank screen when trying to load a rom. Then I zipped my roms and it fixed the problem. So far every game I have tried has worked (although I haven't tried too many).

I think I'm going to start compiling a list here of the games I have tried that work with sound, maybe it will help. It seems that the more I try the less games seem to work with sound. So far the only games that work with sound that I have tried are:

-Revenge of Shinobi (most sounds and music sound good for the most part)

-Sonic the Hedgehog (most of it sounds good but there are a few sounds missing)

-Afterburner II (music mostly, missing some sounds)

-Streets of Rage (music works but doesn't sound quite right, sound and speed is pretty good)

-Streets of Rage 2 (music and some sound works, game runs a little slow and has some trouble in places, but it is playable)

-Strider (flawless as far as I can tell)

-Street Fighter 2 SCE (works fine for the most part, music and some sounds, gets slow sometimes)

-Shinobi 3 (sound, but some sounds missing and sound isn't quite right)

-Shadow Dancer (sounds pretty good)

-Toejam and Earl (music is good, missing voices because of the lack of voice emulation)

I will keep updating this list as I try more. And I noticed that there is no voice emulation yet. Just a few things I figured I'd point out.

Here are a few more that work with sound:

-Golden Axe 2 (Sounds good)

-Golden Axe 3 (Sounds good)

-Gunstar Heros (Sounds decent, a little strange)

-Phantasy Star 2 (Sounds good)

-Phantasy Star 4 (Sounds good)

Overall I have tried about 100 games. Less than 5 didn't work at all. The other 95 or so worked almost perfectly and out of those about 15 had sound. I still have another 800 or 900 games to test haha. So it may take me a while.
