u can check in the cabs repository section for a working samsung sms-mms cab.tested and working good :P

do you install sunfon.ac3 (there's a cab for this)? I test it last night for Traditional Chinese, no problem for me. It's same font in JD1/JD3, it should work for Simplified Chinese also.

for Simplified Chinese, you can install sunfon.ac3 first, then install Droid font, then I think it should work for both TC and SC.

Thank twu2 for the reply. I had tested the driod_font which effect one of the English program the spacing. No way to enter data. I will try it some other way.

Maybe it would have helped to read the beginning of twu2's post before flashing and complaining:

I not complain, just my opinion. Twu2 ROM was good, but only this ROM he removed away those good Chinese font during cooking. I was using his ROM nearly every version. Only this version I face problem. Any how I already flashed back to JD3 lite, it have everything. I will dig from JD3_lite see what I can do.

For those people who are using Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English would have problem here and there.

Hi twu2,

I cooked JE1 Lite ROM using your php script.

It seems that everything is OK. 90MB free RAM is sufficient for me.

However, I have two problems:

1st ROM was cooking in Polish, all applications are in Polish except for shortcuts to them in the Start menu (they are in English)

2nd In the Start Menu no shortcuts to my applications that I added during cooking (cleanRAM, ShakeAndSave etc.).

you need to change the name in each .provxml file under LITE\OEM\ (before you run the script), or change it under OEM\zzzXXXXXX folder (after you run the script).

in this case, only change the word with red color ("GPRS Counter.lnk")

don't change the name for "GPRSCounter.lnk".

usually, for each shortcut, you only need to change the above 2 position. (some application may only have one, no setting in StartInfo Registry)

XTRA enabled by default.. you need to disable it if you don't want to use it.

twu2... this is the fastest rom that i've ever used.

i have only one problem. i m s2u2 fan and i like to use slide to answer when incoming call.

and i also want samsung dailer with Big KeyPad.

when i disable oem dialer S2A is ok. But I cant get Big keypad

When i enable it i see Big Keypad but no S2A.

Any Option to get S2A and Big Keypad at the same time.

When i enable it i see Big Keypad but no S2A.

It's a known issue, the Samsung dialer can't work with S2U2 since JD1.

You can try to install the JC2's dialer phone skin (search here... NewForce create one for this), it work fine with S2U2... or just disable samsung dialer.

If you need other language, or you want to add some package to rom, or want to remove some files from rom, please build a new one by yourself.

here is the script and package setting for JE1 lite rom, if you choose 'My OEM' and 'Samsung Keypad' in BuildOS, you will build a rom 99% same with this lite rom (I remove all .rgu files from dump folder, and change some setting from default.hv and initflashfiles.dat before exit BuildOS).

Thx Twu2! I was able to build an Italian kitchen changing files to refer to Italian lnk's instead of English ones. Besides, I was able to customize it to fit my needs. Wonderful job!!!

I just customize a ROM PT-PT using your script.

For now I just have two questions:

I selected to BUILDOS the Samsung Dialer, which also includes the Phonebook. However, the right touch button is set to open the Contact's default WM. I'm trying to change the link this button to open the Phonebook, but still can not do that. Can you help me?

I wonder if you know how to change the region selected in Regional Settings before BUILD PDA? Every time I finish the ROM this option is set to Greek, and I would switch to Portuguese (Brazilian).
