My Acer Liquid's Baseband reads "A1.02.01.03" and has 512 ROM and 256 RAM, now using 1.6 Donut build number 2.000.13_APP_GEN2, with Country ID EN_TC_SC . Can I upgrade it to 2.2 Froyo and which ROM (For Liquid 256 MB or For Liqui8d E 512MB, with EN TC SC) should I use?

Funnily enough it prevents connection to the network only in CM7 based roms, LCR 2.0 seems to be working fine. BTW if someone knows how to remove the damn simlock, it would make my day.

I never heard about that. This bin is optimized for italian Vodafone carrier, but without simlock. Are you sure that you don't have the cache problem on cm7 (no carrier like no sim insert, no baseband in phone info..)? I think that if your baseband is simlock it is locked with every custom rom.

Well, I'm not really sure of anything, except I have the bad feeling of being very close to a bricked phone... I might want to try the fix from the pasto in the (huge!) CM7 thread to resolve no carrier (if that's what you refer to) in the CM7 thread.

In fact the only mention of vodaphone that lead me to believe the lock was due to the .bin was the homepage of the internet browser set to vodaphone. But what is certain is that with a CM7 rom (tried both thepasto and leogingerbread) the phone presents me with a weird pop up asking for a sim pin to unlock network. There is a dismiss button, and the phone then connects to my carrier and seems to work fine (but in fact can call out but not receive, goes straight to voicemail). But if I reboot then I'll never have a mobile network connection again, and sometimes the pop-up would come back to ask for the pin (seems random). In LCR 2.0 it works flawless as before.

Also I saw a post from stark wong in a related topic (post #37):

mentioning that there might be a flaw in the liquid implementation of the simlock if the phone was previously not simlocked to any carrier (which is my case).

Ok so I flashed back an old acer official 1.6 in the hope to start from a clean state and from then flashed 4.504b which I'm sure works great. I tried a CM7 ROM but I guess it might not be stable enough yet to my taste (had to use the network patch and no wifi in my case), so back to the rockstable LCR-F 2.0. And thankfully no sign of a simlock.

well i couldn't find any custom ROMs for the liquid mini anywhere, or a recovery ROM so you can make nandroid backups, you can ask the developers to help you with that, all i could find is how to do a hard reset to factory settings

Why this bin's date is earlier than the date from Acer website? On Acer website it says 2011/07/06.
