a2sd+

Recommended Posts

If I want to install a rom with a2sd+, is a full wipe required or can I install it on top of my current mcr rom?

Hi there, I did this move on MCR 8 and I did not need wipe. Only pain was formatting SD card and creating partition, with so many MP3's it took some time. However - usual advice - try without wipe, and when it goes wrong, wipe :)

Cheers. But will I move the installed apps to the SD ext partition after I change the rom?

No need to move yourself, everything get moved automaticaly. You can check with quick system info how much is on app2sd.

You don't need to do anything as long as you have created an ext3 partition on your SD card, which it seems like you have. After that just sit back and enjoy seeing less space used on internal storage although some will still be used up by apps for their own data storage, that's just the way it is. use Quick System Info from Market to check your A2SD storage is being used. As long as it shows values, a2sd+ is working.

Again, there are many previous posts re: this all over this forum, either the search doesn't work v well or people are not using it :)

If you don't have a2sd or a2sd+ installed on your current ROM then you don't have to do anything because there is nothing on your SD-ext3 partition. Once you flash with the new ROM it will do it automatically on the first boot and it will take 10-15 mins.
