Nexus One ROM for HTC Desire

Recommended Posts

I've been looking around for ways to get the Nexus One ROM onto a HTC Desire handset, but all I can find is details for the opposite. I really just want rid of Sense, an to run with the native Android UI where possible. I like the Nexus One menu, but prefer the Desire hardware, like the buttons at the bottom, etc. Can it be done? Any pointers to some info would be much appreciated.

You could also look Cyanogen ROM's while over on XDA, again it's based on AOSP vanilla Android and has lot's of support and features.

Most importantly, remember to Nand backup so that any roms you don't like can go and you can restore back to where you started.

OpenDesire now includes a lot of the CM tweaks in it so they're kinda one and the same. As is DeFroST

I prefer the stock Nexus roms too.

I've tried a few but have settled on DeFrost 5.1 (5.2 seems a little buggy to try just yet).

Everything I think of it seems to have built in, plus great battery life too.

Noonski's NSA FF build is awesome. Works perfectly, no issues whatsoever.

There are plenty of AOSP & Sense-less builds.....

Uncle Google is everyones friend!

Just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to the thread, Open Desire is pretty much the kind of look I wanted for my device, it's not as pretty as Sense but then I don't go in for all that fancy stuff, and OpenDesire gives me exactly what I want.

Thanks again.
