I have noticed a phenomena starting to occur after I flashed 2.5.1.2 r2 ClockworkMod Recovery when I'm charing my phone.

After Power off the phone, it goes into recovery mode after a while's charing. Doesn't matter if I power off before or after I connect to the charger.

If I however has fast boot enabled in settings, everything is normal.

Is it possible to backup stock recovery before flashing ClockworkMod?

Maybe with fastboot, dd from the commandline or somethine else?

Maybe

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21 of=/sdcard/recovery.img

Hi there,

Can somebody please explain more about:

"You will need the ENG HBOOT installed on your device to flash this recovery!"

Thanks

+1

I would also like to know this. What exactly is this, I've rooted my hero and san fran before, and not come across this. I just tried to install the clockwork mod and it came up saying failed remote signature verify fail.

Where can I get this eng hboot thing from? on this link .....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835746

is i the "DHD-v0.6..." file att he bottom of the first thread? Also, how exactly do you install it on the device?

Many thanks,

Dave

Hi guys,

I have followed all steps from this guide for full root and i still have Ace pvt ship s-on still . . . .But when i done the commands in the android terminal it all passed both checksums matched etc . . .

I have tried to install Pauls clockworkmod for my desire, sending the file went fine "OK" but writing it failed and it says:

INFO SIGNATURE checking failed (Remote: signature verify failed . . .

What have i done wrong!?

Despite following the steps i must have messed up some where and i dont want to restart my phone just incase i brick it.

Karl.

Hi,

I am not so new to Android but brand new to HTC devices.

I've heard about needing a goldcard for a Desire HD if he phone was sim-locked and/or branded. My new HTC is NOT sim-locked but it is branded. Question here is: Do I need a goldcard should I want to install a custom ROM or CWM?

Thanks!

Hi,

When trying to run the clockwork mod I just get 'waiting for device' and nothing else happens (see below)........have I missed something?

E:\>fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-ace-modaco-r2.im

< waiting for device >

NB I extracted the files to the root of my SD card showing up as the E drive on my laptop

Also when i select Fastboot form the boatloader screen what is meant to happen? should i be able to view the folder structure once I have connected by USB? as nothing happens so have been rebooting the device......

Apologies but sure I've missed something here?!
