F-ing FINALLY ;)

thanks to all in this thread, for

1 - sharing contact names

2 - sharing the text of comms that get the right response from o2

3 - motivating me to never give up with this

anyways -as they say in the p0rn industry- here's the money shot

Hello Adam

Your Dell Streak unlock code is sum numbers that you need to remove from ur modaco post.

All you need to do is put another networks SIM card in the phone and

enter the code when you?re asked for it.

I've also taken £15 from your account towards the unlocking fee. Your

credit balance is 55p.* You can check your credit balance by calling

*#10# free from your mobile phone.

If there's anything else, please reply to my email.

Regards

I sent an unlocking code request this morning (through the form mentioned earlier in this thread) and received a reply with the code about 6 hours later ;)

Btw. no mention of any fees, I'm on pay monthly and it was Yogesh who dealt with my request.

i think it's only PAYG that's required to pay for unlatching

i've checked & it looks like they only charged me £12.50 (not the quoted £15)

if i could do it all again i'd get one of my overseas buddies to get it unlatched the way that fas69 did ;)

You've encouraged me enough!

I put in for my unlock codes for both my phones this eve.

We''ll see how long or even if they send them to me.

I have a monthly contract but I've been with them for 3 years now so I will still have to cross my fingers and hope they are nice to a long time customer.

Thanks OP, sent a request and received my unlock code 6 hours later. No contracts with O2 just now and no payment request from Sunita. Time for my Rebel SIM to retire.

Hi, I'm an Indian too and I got my dell streak unlocked without being an O2 customer. Have a look through this thread and see the exact text that the other users have emailed to get a favourable response. Keep emailing till you get a positive response. Keep at it and I'm sure you will have you streak unlocked the same way we did.

Cheers.

From the Lucy automated advisor:

You asked:
Can I unlock my O2 mobile to use it on a different network?

My answer:
If you have an O2 iPhone click here.

If you're a Pay Monthly (including business) customer with an Xda or BlackBerry then you can request for your handset to be unlocked at any time, free of charge.
Other O2 Pay Monthly handsets are not locked to our network. The only exception are handsets which are exclusive to O2 such as the Palm Pre which remain locked
to the O2 network as we want our customers to have the very best Smartphone experience.
Don't forget that you'll still need to honour the remainder of the minimum term of your contract even if you place a non-O2 sim into your phone.

If you're a Pay & Go customer, your O2 mobile can be unlocked 12 months after purchase for a one-off £15.00 fee which we'll deduct from your airtime balance.
To request for your phone to be unlocked, click here and complete the requested information.
We'll respond via email within 28 days with the details on how to unlock.

Quit messing with the help, this is the link to get it unlocked.

What was the original O2 number that it came with?

Give that to them.

If you bought it from someone you may have to contact them to get the original phone number for the handset in order to complete this, even Sagar's email is asking specifically for that number.

If you bought it off the internet then you have contact info for the person you bought it from.

Contact them and explain that you need to know the original number in order to unlock it.

Please help me....i have a big problem..

Hello Ngo

Thanks for replying to Hitendra's email.

The IMEI number of your phone should be shown on our system as used with

an O2 sim card.

The only way to get your IMEI registered on our network is to use it

with an O2 sim card, when you're in the UK. We can't unlock it until it

shows on our system.

As you're abroad, you'll need to send your phone to your friends or

relatives in the UK. Ask them to make a call from it with an O2 sim

card. Then keep the same sim card in your phone for 24 hours to get it

linked. When it's done, reply to my email with the below security

details:

- O2 mobile number

- credit on the account (can check it by calling *#10# free)

- date, amount and method of last Top-Up done

- SIM Serial Number (starts with 89441100 and can be found on the back

of the sim card).

I'll then forward your details to our support team to get the unlocking

code. You'll get it within 14 days and £15 will be taken off from your

credit when we'll give you the unlocking code.

If you?ve got any other questions, just ask. Or check our online help

centre:

and now...

Hello Ngo

Thanks for getting back to us.

As advised earlier, to unlock your phone it needs to be linked on our

network. As you're not in UK you can send your phone to UK. Someone in

UK can get a new sim with new number, Top-Up for you with £15 and make a

call.

This will link your number and IMEI both on our network. When this is

done, reply to my email after 24 hours.

If there's anything else I can do, let me know.

Hey! Firstly, i would like to thank all of you for posting this up  cos without it, i wont even have hopes about getting my phone unlocked.

Im currently waiting for the final response from sagar. And honestly, it feels extremely horrible, but i know its worse for some :)

Just wanna ask, how long do you guys normally wait after you get this mail from sagar?

I sent my mailS (about 6 of em) on the 20th Jan,

And finally sagar responded after 2 negative response from the other o2 customer service officers.

Hi Aaron 21st Jan

We don't have the code for this one on our database & will need to

request this from the manufacturer usually the codes when requested

comeback by next day, however these days we are facing some delays form

their end.

I'll have this requested & pass it on to you as soon as we get the code

back.

Kind Regards

Sagar

After 2 days i decided to mail again.. twice. & finally on 24th Jan sagar responded with this.

Hello Aaron,

Thanks for your email. I'm sorry you haven't received your unlatching

code yet and for the delay in getting back to you.

Unfortunately, we're having trouble getting the codes for Dell Streak

devices at the moment but we'll keep requesting the code you need. I'm

afraid I can't tell you how long this will take, but as soon as we have

the code you need we'll let you know.

If there's anything else we can do for you just drop us an email. I hope

you enjoy the rest of your day.

Kind Regards

Sagar

Man.. it's been 6 days since i started mailing them. I wonder how long will it take.

After reading the responses from Sagar on the above post, im just hoping that he would still give us the unlock codes using our IMEI numbers.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I read that some mention they would get the unlock code within 10 days right?

Or do we kinda have to wait longer?
