Hmm, it's not far off that...

/system: 212480K total, 133572K used, 78908K available (block size 4096)
If you left out Maps from the kitchen (and installed from the Market instead) I dare say it would probably fit. The biggest space-hogs:

This is a great list, could it be in the first page maybe? So it is easy to spot?

Proud owner of the first r10 rom (after Paul)! Thanks Paul and just became adfree as a gesture of appreciation.

Hmm that sounds great, especially since I don't really need touchpal (I prefer the gingerbread keyboard) nor twitter (tweetdeck here) and probably not even QuickOffice and I can of course install Maps from the market.

So if I unzip the the downloaded rom and check the size of /system, I can accuratelly check the size, right? (want to go sure, I'd rather not have clockwork overwriting partitions or something...)

You could do it that way, but also if clockwork runs out of space, it just stops extracting. Annoyingly it doesn't give an error message, but it won't overwrite anything important either.

To be honest, all of the bold entries are Market installable...

...so you could safely leave all of those out (although I would probably keep Gmail in there), save plenty of room in the ROM to be on the safe side and job done.

Excellent work, great rom, thank you.

One question, I have a portuguese sapo a5 device, the in call sound from the ear speaker is a bit low at maximum volume setting, is there a way of tweaking this, to increase it? thank you.

@Paul, am I right to think that libwnn* are obsolete in /system/lib/ (to do with some sort of Japanese ime) and if space is a major concern, libjbmidpdy.so can also be removed being the largest file in /system/lib/ (that is if you do not tick the Java ME in the kitchen)?

Yummie, looks good :) . Also like the discussion on the 128 MB /system; I did that with R7/R8 by indeed leaving maps etc out.

Paul, so if I bake two ROMs, one with all included and one with only the bare essentials, is it sufficient to copy the APKs out of the large ROM, or do they need more that just the APK? I think Quickoffice didn't like it a while ago.

Once I am home and have had dinner... ;)

Oh yeah this release (with Gingerbread bits selected) is looking HOT!

Thanks Frankish for the theme work (I just added the transparent pulldown).

P

How do I select the Gingerbread bits, I still have the Froyo icons in the status bar?

If I were to flash the older GB theme then, with the opaque pull-down, would I loose the new icons or is that seperate to the theme?

Cannot WAIT to try this release, always preferred the MCR, when the new leaks came out I kept ROM jumping because they all had new features but never were as stable, finally I have the stability, support and all round tighter feel of MCR with all the fancy new stuff :)

Thank you so much for all the hard work Paul, and as always if theres anything we can do in return, shout ;)

Many thanks for the quick update Paul - hard to keep up with it!

I'm not sure if this has been already discussed - apologies if it has. There are a number of apps which allow the user to change the CPU governor. I haven't found that they currently work - any plans to make this user-modifiable? Is it just a matter of chmodding the appropriate files or does it require more indepth kernel changes?

Not completely sure about the theme so far - maybe a bit too dark for my liking... maybe I just need to get used to it. ;)

Also, I like the circle battery - gives a nice overview of the battery percentage without having to go back to the homescreen to look at a widget. Anyone tried installing it, for instance by using the one included with JapJelly?

The GB icons are seperate from the theme - as long as you select the GB pack in the kitchen, they should apply on reboot. If you update / reinstall GMail / Market, reboot to reapply the icons.

Guest Frankish

Going to give r10 a go with the Gingerbread Theme ;)

I hope it's a bit smoother now, r8 it was lagging when scrolling in the menus and the browser was bad too, almost like i was fighting against it to scroll down.

Who needs a 2.3 rom when you have Modaco's Froyo with Gingerbreaddy bits? :)

Paul do I need to install a theme to get the transparent pulldown, mine is still opaque? I selected Gingerbread in the Kitchen

Oh.. a bit confused, are you referring to GB icons in the app drawer as well? I selected the GB pack but don't see changes in icons but only the theme?

My sentiments exactly! Between you guys you've done a ridiculous amount getting this kind of ROM available, at face value (and indeed a bit deeper) it's PRACTICALLY Gingerbread except the TV Tube sleep (I'm still holding out for that.... living a lie pretending one day..... maybe one day) haha. Seriously, thanks so much for all the work you guys put into it. It's really much appreciated ;)
