Guest
If you have experience building roms from source, you can get the device config from https://github.com/TomGiordano/android_device_huawei_u8220 and the vendor config from http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,3670 and just compile the rom. I will try, thank you ! To Tom, https://github.com/pulse-android-dev, this project has not been updated long time , already give up ? I try to write hal of Camera on this , has so much problem, do you have any suggestions?

I am an android soft engineer from China and also a 8220 user. Can you tell me how to get a copy of source code easyly? CM code + device config + vender config? If has a project like the old one, that is great!

If you look at http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,3670 then that contains the change needed to add U8220 support to cyanogenmod. If you look at the gingerbread branch of the linked github repository last change was 8 Mar so it isn't that old (If you look at the froyo branch then it is old). There are a few people working on open source camera drivers for msm7k based phones such as https://github.com/korline/gaosp_hardware_m...254e/libcamera2 and http://gitorious.org/rowboat/hardware-msm7...eraHardware.cpp I haven't yet worked out which is the most up to date version to use as a basis for further work or even if it is necessary to merge bits from each of them. I didn't give up, I moved one. Once it is merged into CM7 all you will need is the CM7 source. At the moment you need the CM7 source + the gerrit patch (which probably doesn't apply cleanly any more) + my github repo. The hero has a working camera driver in CM7 (modified libcamera2). I haven't played with it yet but I think it may work for us with a little modification. I think the DS is using a froyo lib at the moment.

At the moment you need the CM7 source + the gerrit patch (which probably doesn't apply cleanly any more) + my github repo. Yesterday I built CM7 with gerrit + github repo, as you said, flashed system.img and boot.img (couldn't create an update.zip), but it was very, very slow! I enabled OC to 710MHz, decreased cpufreq's up threshold, highered vm size to 24mb, disabled window animations, but it was still very far from the performance I got with the CM6 ROMs... SetCPU's short benchmark was 2-5 seconds, compared to the ~400 ms in the CM6 rom. RAM's not the problem, as I have an U8230 with 256MB RAM and there was more than 130MB of RAM free. Is this "normal"? Guest al-xcartier
I know you want to know how to help fastboot compassion Hey Romea, I've already explained that earlier in this thread in English and French. Just start reading from the beginning... Alex

You just post stupid and nonsensic stuff on threads instead of trying to help people or being friendly. STOP IT. If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't. Guest sentroy
BTW: Is there any release date? If you're optimistic as me, then I'd say this month. I'm not 100 on how the code reviewing goes over at cm. But from the things i understand here: Code Review It seems as we need just (not just and just but) someone to verify and approve the code. Our faith rests in one reviewers hands :D Hope this helped to calm some nerves down. And stop angry little people to post stuff that just seems wrong on so many levels. And if it isn't released officially by CM, we can count Tom to release it. Edited March 25, 2011 by sentroy
Guest AntonioPT
For all of you that ask for release date, I say what I have said before. CM7 is ready! It's working fine! We are just waiting for the Pulse to get official status on the CM project, but if it doesn't, we still have a very good CM7 ROM! In fact, I am flashing it on my phone right now! Guest D-D-
Ok. Never mind about the release date (when it'll be released, well, it will be - i sound like an iCrap ad). But I was wondering if the performance is ok with this one? Didn't u say that it's a little bit slow or something?

You just have to enable OC because without OC it gets REALLY really slow...
