Nice find, 1900mah sounds great, might get one.

The charger thing is meant to be left in till it charges I think, couple of hours overnight kind of thing when travelling or as mentioned at a festy ;)

It's a 1300mah internal battery + a 1900mah external battery that can be used to recharge the internal one. So it's basically for situations where you won't have a charger available.

its a shame nobody produced a bigger capacity battery for the blade , even one where it made it bigger at the back of the phone, perhaps adding a new back cover , although the blade battery is okay , it is one of its weakneses

I need a limit to it's battery life lol! The only reason I got any sleep last night is because the battery hit 1% after 6 hours of Grand Prix Story. ;)

looks like a spare battery + some kind of mobile charger for the battery???

i cant quite work it out. help?

might be useful for festival season...

Hi, If you need just the mobile charger then I have found it here;

Mobile Charger

I might not be able to use something like this because I have a silicon case on my Blade and I needed to trim some of the plastic off the micro USB end so the cable would go all the way in and seat properly, also not sure about having the weight of the mobile battery hanging directly off the micro USB socket, just a thought.

Ultimately, after my trip to the UK last week when my iPod died (I forgot to charge it), and my Blade was running very low on power, I decided an external battery back up would be a valuable addition. So I found this;

5000Mah Battery Pack

this baby will power any USB device. Finally I also discovered after on my recent trip that I no longer need a charger for my iPod, the Blade's tiny charger works great, one less thing to carry.

my iPod

;) Speak of the devil :D

Useless device, Imo :D - what with a smartphone...

But thats just an opinion, (but the fact si there is no need for an iPod because it has no functions a smartphone doesn't have :P)

well- maybe not the blade, its not too fast, but I mean combine the cost of a blade and an iPod and you could get yourself a nice smartphone :D

(not dissing the blade, but we must admit there are better devices out there :D)

Hi, I have a 160GB iPod, show me a smart phone that can do that?! Soon I wll upgrade the internal HD to 240GB.

Not everybody is the same or has the same needs. I have a huge music collection (Bought and paid for on CD's).

Anil.

PS. Sorry if this is off topic but Mushroom_Lord's uncharacteristically biased and ill informed view irritated me.

You can pluralise that, he seems to do it a lot...

Ps. So, indeed, you can strike "uncharacteristically" from the list.

Oh thanks for pointing that out, I nearly got one thinking they had made a super battery

I've got two external battery packs - both charge via USB. One is 6600mAh, the other 11000mAh. Both are awesome for quickly charging when out and about - they charge as fast as if it were connected to the mains.

Could you provide a link to these?

Off to Glastonbury and will need something to charge my ZTE whilst there.

Figure best getting something that will outlive the life of the phone i.e. can be used with other phones, iPods etc.

Cheers

Theres a guy on Ebay selling a USB lead for a HTC desire that has a longer metal neck so works fine even with the silicone case on and its only 99p - look for Massaver

For a cheap and cheerful backup power supply you could get one of these :

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronic...urlrefer=search

You need to use a USB to micro USB lead (such as the one that comes with the phone) to charge the phone from the battery pack as it doesn't have a micro USB tip in those supplied.

That one looks like a good option, as it out camping for a week or longer, could buy more batteries to charge up the phone.

I wonder, how much charge will 4 batteries give, i.e in comparison to the TeckNet Dual which is stated "5000mAh 1.5A Output"

Technet Dual's great, btw - one charge (plus a full blade battery charge) allowed me about 20 hours of video playback on a series of flights to Australia

I can't currently access that link to the Camlink Sigma thingy but I'm guessing it's a 4 AAA battery pack?

I googled Camlink sigma AAA batteries - I think they're about 1000mAh each, making 4000mAh, equating to about 3 charges of your blade

Of course it wouldn't be this much since things never carry as much charge as they claim and there would be energy wasted along the way but for les than a tenner I think that's pretty good value. The device looks a bit bigger than the tecknet one, and delivers perhaps a little less power, but it's half the price, and you could always just buy a bunch more batteries and take them along ready charged

I have a silicon case and the cable came out so easily, it was the most annoying thing ever.

I already have another cable so I just cut the badword thing, 1-2 mm off and it works perfectly.

;)

be careful, the batteries give 1000mAh at 1.2V making it 4800mWh (milliWatt hours), about the same as the capacity of Blade battery (which is 1250mAh at 3.7V i think). if you account for some losses, this pack barely gives you one full charge. someone please correct me if I'm wrong

I can confirm this from experience. I have a mini portable charger that uses 2 rechargeable AA's and this will charge the blade's battery to about 50%.

The technet one will give at least three full charges.

Cheapest I've found is £20.99 (free delivery) direct from the manufacturer. Mine's on it's way:
