Is there any way of changing the IMEI or at least getting Android to report back a different IMEI? Many thanks in advance, I'm aware that there may be some legal issues with this but it is not as if the phone has been stolen. Guest Muppchan Posted June 22, 2011 Report Share Posted June 22, 2011 IMEIs are, as far as i believe, now hard coded and cannot be changed. It is also illegal to change the IMEIs on any device! If it is a legitimate engineering sample then you should be able to approach the network and request that the phone be unblocked. I use smartflash but i was wrong in using this program. I have cheked the box "Erase CP" and now my O2X does'nt find the network. My phone send "carte incorrect" or "No network". Rule No.1 is never select this if you dont have the correce baseband for your device. Start hyperterminal, in COM settings select same port like in devide manager -> LGE mobile USB Serial Port, 115200 5. Type AT if response is not OK, change port number 6. Type at%imei, it should display your current IMEI 7. Type at%imei=x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x , where x,x,x... is your orginal IMEI number 8.
