With all the recent furore about people creating ROM's, how about a central repository for all of the fixes - you know, a bit like how Cyanogenmod works? :P

So here's a thread for the Blade 2.6.35 builds (someone else can create one for OMC) with what I've found so far. Please add to it. It would seem that Dolby, Bluetooth and proximity are the first things that need fixing and the leaked RIL doesn't work for wifi/gps perhaps?

Monte Carlo Stirfry

Based on: Orange Monte Carlo + bits from GSF/CM7

Fixes: Dolby sound

Breaks: bluetooth

Sourcecode: ???

Ginger Stirfry

Based on: Gingerleak + bits from CM7 + burstlam's kernel

Fixes: overclock, bluetooth, proximity (?)

Breaks: ???

Sourcecode: ???

Vanilla Gingerbread

Based on: Gingerleak + bits from CM7

Fixes: 2g/3g RIL

Breaks: ???

Sourcecode: GitHub

Blade Mix

Based on: GSF b9 + burstlam's kernel

Fixes: proximity

Breaks: ???

Sourcecode: ???

CAE

Based on: Gingerleak + burstlam's kernel

Fixes: ???

Breaks: ???

Sourcecode: ???

Crevitus

Based on: GSF b21

Fixes: overclock

Breaks: proximity

Sourcecode: ???

Blue Ginger (dead?)

Based on: GSF b14

Fixes: ???

Breaks: ???

Sourcecode: ???

Just the 2.6.35 kernels, not ROMs:

TomG (and kalltkaffe)

Burstlam

Flibblesan

t0mm13b (config.gz for CM7)

geno.kolar (config etc. for ginger leaks)

fp30

May I recommened a layout change?

EG:

Ginger Stir Fry (based on ZTE leak)

Bluetooth: working

GPS: working

VOIP app fix (Skype): non-working

Low power Wifi mode: working

Overclockable: non-working

FM Radio: working

LED notifications: non working

Known issues:

Additonal notes: insert text here

Maybe change the title to 'What rom should I use?'

This thread may become really helpful. Nice idea...

But I would keep things more simple. I don't really care if the ROM is based on a leak or AOSP, etc. What the community wants to know is the level os customization (extra apps, themes, trash,...), the hardware compatibility and the performance.

For instance:

CAE 1.1

Customization: medium (some new icons, some 3rd party apps, strange color theme, new launcher,...)

Hardware compatibility: medium-high (some issues with the proximity sensor, some problems with ringtones)

Performance: very high (fast, good battery, stable)

More or less like this.

Thanks.

that's exactly what i don't want lol, i don't give a damn about apps or themes (you can always do that yourself) its the code fixes and kernel this thread is about.

although looking at it, GSF with burstlam's kernel is about the only ROM people should be using anyway.

for the rom's with fixed bluetooth/proximity, can those changes be rolled into the others (i.e. sourcecode please). i guess the overclock ability comes from burstlam's kernel?

maybe this might be best on the wiki so others can modify it. anyone fancy doing that?

Brilliant idea!!!

One note: this topic MUST have a very good chosen topic name in order to find it by searching... one thread to rule them all is definately not that title :D

Question about the new burslam kernel :

I can see that burstlam is working hard / much in source of the latest kernel.

Lots of changes in the past 2 days (i think not in the kernel we use with B22 GSF and others using first bust lam kernel V1)

Changes bustlam kernel

Does he / someone build new weekly / nightly builds of that changes?

Wrong. CM7 is the only rom that most people should use.

What exactly is the point of this thread?

well i agree about cm7

the point of the thread was to maybe bring together some of the 2.6.35 development, although that doesn't seem to be happening, so maybe its just another pointless thread B)

Arguably ROM's should not be ROMs as the apostrophe denotes the abbreviation, not ownership.

What are you abbreviating? It's clearly a plural, so no apostrophe.

There isn't any development involved in producing any of these roms in this thread, they're all just copies, so there is nothing to bring together.
