Am I crazy or am I the only one on this forum actually using a PC?.

Dear Lord, earlier was one with 17 hours of download or so, now you, c'mon people, get real. If I have to wait 17 hours to download a file of 100 mb I'll go nuts long before it finishes. ( even on dial-up it's faster)

Are there no PC available whatsoever?

I downloaded every version on CM9 in under 2 minutes, installed it in 10 and ready to fly in another 10.

Nowadays a pc is not that expensive , people.

I'm with you there, I always use my PC for downloading roms and rom modifications, you just can't do half the stuff that you can do on PC with a smartphone!... PC FTW completely! :P

roaming evrytime have to select network manually once network is lost. phone does nt register automatically once back in coverage.

every thing work fine, no problem in this rom.

but, i have 2 questions, may be you can solve it.

1. this is use very fast & smooth, but sometimes the reaction a little delay, usually after sleep, when make up phone.

is normal ? or i need set up someting? (overclock 245~940, used app2sd )

2. here is no wifi ap function, right ? i used wireless tether still no used.

has any way can make the phone to be wifi ap to share 3g network for my friends.

I'm not fussed about the wakelock function whilst plugged into the mains as it doesn't seriously affect the charging much, however it does for when my OMC is plugged into the usb power charging, the screen definitely needs wakelock to shut off when screen is off and plugged into usb power, unless usb power charging is just too weak, then it's something I just have to and can live with anyways... I just like it that when my screen is off whilst I unplug the cable that the screen stays off, it saves me having to turn the screen off myself or waiting for it to turn off by itself...

@creedance Using mini tool to create an sd-ext partition doesn't delete everything on the SD card.....are you sure if you create a partition through clockwork mod that it deletes everything?

With mini-tool, not everything is deleted. But even with Clockwork.

Ok,

I'm attempting to follow the TPT instructions to the letter, only nothing seems to be happening.

1) Download a TPT - I've downloaded 'Skate-v2b.zip' as this one was recommended

2) Check the MD5sum matches - result "Matches expected value"

3) Unzip the TPT - image folder created on SD card containing image.bin & nandroid.md5

4) Check the contents of the image folder - number of matches 1/1

5) Turn off the phone

6) Menu + Vol + Power

7) Green text should appear on the screen then the phone should reboot into recovery

Ok, no 'green text' - the phone just goes straight into recovery.

What should I do ?

Try using a different, smaller sd card. Sometimes tpt does not like a card but likes another

and from mediafire it takes 20 or so seconds

Yes, the french Staraddict phones have the buttons the wrong way round as can be seen there:

you'll have to decompile which ever system apk it's in, make the change then recompile the apk again and fire back into system. :)

What should I do ?

I'd advise first backing up your Contacts and SMS with MobileGo

Which has an app on the phone and an app that sits on your PC.

Then load the ROM onto your sd card.

Make a Backup of your phone in case you need to put it back on.

Next use the 'TPT helper' app, load the second TPT file and run the second option,

it will probably stop your current ROM working.

Then use recovery to load the ROM following the instructions ~(using the buttons when starting the phone).

When all that is done use MobileGo to reload your SMS and Contacts (I did not load the Apps).

This worked for me and meant I didn't have to mess around lots with TPT.

Also all my SMS messages and Contacts went across thanks to MobileGo.

could we please start using the discussion thread for any other ics related issues, like tpt, will this, will that app work, what size partition do I need please ect , iam as guilty as anyone else, for off topic posts O:) so iam not pontificating.
