Hi, i have a ZTE Racer and a LG p350 (optimus me). They have very similar hardware (that i can tell). They both have Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset, 600mhz ARM11, GPU adreno 200, size of the display 240x320. The great difference is that p350 have a capacitive touchscreen.

In the xda developers they manage to port the ICS 4.04 to the p350 with some sucess. Currently its working: touch, display, gsm, wifi, audio, hw acceleration, BT, etc.

So i wonder if its possible to use something of this project with the ZTE racer.

The link is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665592

If i said something stupid (like i did before), i'm sorry, a just want to help.

Tks

ill check it out, didnt really know the hardware was that similar with those two devices.. the biggest problem i had so far is adreno and rild since without screen i cant test anything and without ril theres no signal >.>

oh and even if you do say something stupid, dont worry about it, we all did say stuff we didnt know about until we learned more :P

edit: racer is actually msm7627 but it all goes to msm7x27 so it might actually work i think since defconfig is CONFIG_ARCH_MSM7X27=y

If it helps, there's another LG phone with adreno 200 and qualcomm MSM 7227 600mhz arm11. It's the lg p500 (optimus one). the xda could port without errors, the CM9 project for ICS 4.04.

Check it out: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1614420

Although it is a slightly different phone (320x480 screen, 512 ram) I figure that some parts of this project could be transported to our ZTE Racer.

But that i leave to the experts.

tks

PS: I was searching for information about adreno 200 and Qualcomm 7227, and looks like the binaries for the adreno 200 armv6 was released only in march 2012, on qualcomm website: https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobile-development/mobile-technologies/gaming-graphics-optimization-adreno/tools-and-resources

Here is the description:

Drivers

Adreno 2xx User-mode Android ICS Graphics Driver (ARMv6)

Download (1.6 mb)

Updated 28 Mar 12

This release contains the user-mode driver binaries for Qualcomm's Adreno 2xx GPU on Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich for ARMv6 based chipsets. It has been tested with the CAF release M8960AAAAANLYA1030. Supports any Adreno 2xx GPU on Android ICS using the ARMv6 chipset (7x27). Google's libRS (LLVM) does not currently support ARMv6.

i can tell you right away that those adreno drivers dont work with racer and dont make it boot, i tested those 3 months ago

Please give a working link to the firmware from this post http://www.modaco.co...60#entry1859754

And the time would have to convert it to the new kernel from deadlink http://www.modaco.co...l-cwm-recovery/

Hi. I checked it with my port of CM9 HTC Wildfire. There's also a damn mouse. To solve this problem we need ICS compatible kernel.

Why not take the kernel of Samsung Galaxy Ace or Gio? (Почему бы не взять ядро от Samsung Galaxy Асе или Gio?)

US Cellular Launches The ZTE Imperial, A 4G LTE Android 4.1 Handset Available Online Today, In Stores Tomorrow

There seem to be a few JellyBean ZTE kernels at this point...

I'm not sure what if any hardware compatability there is with the Racer amongst these models, but can any of these be reconfigured and recompiled?
