[TUT] Leaked JellyBean and Unlocked bootloader

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm new here and new to cloudmobile S500....

With the risk of being out of topic can anyone help me to sim unlock my Cloudmobile?

Does this leak of Jelly Bean make the unlock by flashing another baseband?

Thx!

As far as I know flashing another firmware won't unlock network...As it doesn't touch android secure partition

Wow leak it's fast as hell ;)

Flashed with windows 7 32 bit and unlocked bootloader with Ubuntu 12.10

If you want, compare jb with ics, speed, etc. And some benchmark, if you want...

I've had an O2X that have been unlocked by flashing baseband only, so i thought that this one will work too. Any ideea how to unlock it otherwise? :D

Salut alexandru.k_24. Bafta

Hello alexandru.k_24. You need to check you cpu version. If you have CPU_TYPE=8260a-3 it works, i have CPU_TYPE=8260a-1, so for me it won't work. You can check that by downloading android sdk tools from this link ( http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html ). Go to command prompt ( cmd ) navigate into the folder "adt-bundle-windows-x86\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools", shut down your phone and turn it back on pressing power + volume up button and then connect it to the pc and run the following command fastboot -i 0x0502 oem device-infos. It will tel you your cpu version. Good luck !

Me too. Orange Romania are not reliable. Whi did they put -1 instead of -3...

Just another type of region control. Remember when Sony got their xperia 2011 update from GB to ICS? They do it by serial number of phones...same here but the difference is CPU type...

Anyone, an idea to solve?

Was able to decompile bin files (you can find decomposed file here). Tried to change CPU type in parameter_list.txt and then encrypt it again using a custom/modded Acer DownloadTools but the output file looks too different and i don't know how to update the .bin file with the new file.

Another option is to flash whole extracted file with recovery. We can flash all partition with recovery like it's done with stock update.zip. If someone want to try that, let me know.

is this the leaked official acer cloudmobile rom or is it a custom rom? thanks

It's an official ROM, but not a released one.

So we take that file u posted, rename it to update.zip and proceed from cwm boot to flash it?Will it work on a orgord variant?
