I can do this without y cable? Only otg cable?

I use a normal USB cable going from phone to a twin port pulled from old PC PCB with the data pins linked together and power pins supplied by an old charger. I don't use an otg cable at all.

Setup is as pictured. Using normal USB cable, old Nokia charger and twin USB from old dead PC. Link power to one or both ports depending on your preference.

I use script to start/stop and check otg.

Kill one! Its fun!

If you're like me, I tend to use what I have.

I don't know what you have.

If you have 2 spare usb extension leads, cut the male plug off and join the leads together. Apply 5v to red/black wires and you should be away laughing.

The USB work because it need less power than an HDD

You can mount the USB in

/storage/usbdisk
So the file manager can see it ;)
