What do you want to delete and why?

There are many existing (device specific and generic) tutorials on how to modify framework-res.apk that might be of interest here.

Google for them.

E.g.:

http://www.xda-developers.com/android/tool-to-make-modifying-framework-res-a-little-easier-for-beginners/

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010679

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840098

etc...

I want delete unnecessary language because i need only 1 language :)

This rom must be light :D

Deleting languages is something you don't want to do. It will cause FC's when doing many things such as viewing an app that has accents or foreign languages. Besides, it wouldn't make a difference in performance anyway.

As far as I can see it may make only marginal difference to the amount of storage (/system?) space used too.

Yeah, and reducing it wont make any difference to the user. Reducing the amount of system used wont give you more app space, which is something a lot of people seem to think. The system is a fixed amount of storage so you don't have to bother about making it's contents smaller.

Hi Kyan,

Because this is the best ROM (in my opinion), i want to know if it's possible to transpose the .png's file from CM or ICS (framework, settings, all default apks etc) to this one in the meaning of, to looks like CM or ICS! Thx!

It's possible to theme GB like a newer version of android, but it's nowhere as simple as swapping images from a new android build to GBX.

I hate wake by volume keys. Is there any way how to disable it? I found some zip in other topic, but it dont work.

Can't remember how to do it, something with generic.kl and qwerty.kl (something a long those lines). Search on the Modaco G300 how to add volume wake and get the tutorial, then do the tutorial the opposite way :P

Hello Kyan! I just installed this and I can already see a difference, i have about 250mb of free ram after i clear it out. anyway i got annoyed at the lock screen as i have to keep "unlocking" it even it provide zero security. So can you remove it? if not here's my current solution (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock) works pretty nice but it doesn't work at boot up. and MOST importantly i want to install a custom lock screen. as the current app i use disables both lock screens and if i enable it it enables both so i have to unlock it twice :/ thanks in advance

I was using No Lock on GB CM7 and it worked fine even on reboot.

What happens here? Does it simply not kick in and disable the lock screen?

Edit: actually I'm using No Lock on my Haier W910 running JB 4.1.2 and it doesn't work immediately after reboot when the normal lock screen appears. Once I have unlocked No Lock works fine thereafter. Although once or twice I have noticed the original lock screen flashing up or kicking in - not sure why...

Hi. I'm afraid i'm not really working on unnecessary features etc. for any of my ROMs now, especially if there is an alternative on the play store or wherever. I just stick around here to see how things are going, and to help people in need.

Hello! i have found a solution for they lock screen!
This allows you to disable the current one and install your own one!

It might not work for you depending one the lock screen you use.

If you just want to get ride of the lock screen try these:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.futonredemption.nokeyguard

But if you want to have a different screen like me, follow these steps

1) You'll first need a lock screen that you want to install

2) Download ROM tool-box (you can do it without it but it's easier)

lite:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox

pro:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro

3) navigate to the "performance" area

screenshot-1400701087687_zps88d87632.png

4) And you'll want to go to the

Build.prop.editor

5) scroll down until you find

ro.config.hw_lockscreen

 screenshot-1400427958332_zpsf5541940.png

6)Change this to false and also change _lockscreen_tips to false (don't reboot device if it asks you)

7)Download one of the lock screen "deleter"

8)Install the custom lock screen of your choice (i used: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ginlemon.futura)

9)Reboot device

10)You'll see the "default" lockscreen when you reboot it, but if you unlock it and it shows the costom one you have done it

11)Try locking your screen and turn it on again,

if it doesn't work:

-try resetting the build.editor and reboot when it asks you to

-try a different lockscreen

-try rebooting your device again

-try installing the lockscreen/no lock again

-try installing them in different order

BTW:

sorry for the weird colours on the screenshot, i did try using a different screenshot app but that didn't work   :/

Anyone else get a malware warning from Google chrome when they view this page? If so, its not malware (unless Modaco is infected).

Yes.

After the warning I only ventured in here using Sandboxie just in case.

Seems to me that it's the image in this post which is causing the problem because it comes from cdn.memgenerator.net

@Kamikazi and Dayler, remove any comments containing this image so the error doesn't show anymore. Thanks

I removed my post that quoted the original one (including the image hosted on the suspect site).
