http://www.mtk-dev.com/search/label/MT6592 (here you can check new roms from LP, MM, miui etc)

Jpower new miui port soon?

Thanks - so is the MIUI on that page considered the best these days?

I need to reinstall my gf's Coolpad F1 which is on an older MIUI and am considering that one instead.

What's the story with the A310 patch? Is that still missing from the download page? Is it something needed for F1? Or does it refer to the sound patch?

yea it is good, i have used it before. Indian guy is porting those roms. But i preffer Jpowers version since it has less apk's on phone that are useless

and for miui i think you need to wait for a couple of days for it, since its ported to the a311 then patch needed to boot on a31o/f1

Sorry - I'm a bit confused.

So the MIUI on the page that you linked to does NOT work on F1 yet?

If so then how did you try it?

On some other phone?

Can you clarify which Jpower MIUI you are referring to?

My recollection is that there were different versions last time I looked and it was not clear which was the best.

As mentioned elsewhere I tried a few MIUI 7s at the time and had most luck with this one:

Jpower used to build miui and posted link on his greek forum (one version is here aswell, his latest i think)

Jpower's latest miui - https://mega.nz/#!IUYwDIiA!bHwEwpXzdv4v_y14hp5DueUciukHmZO5FAG4DYJ_uFw (7.1.19 version of miui 8) and i am currently on that version, and  i am very satified, but there is a whole new version of miui that brings more tweaks, from battery, ram, redisign etc, and i would like from Jpower to port it since i have lack of knowledge and wouldnt do great job as he would

I am sorry that i confused you, i was typing on my phone so didnt really explain that much

Version of miui 8.2 from mtk-dev site is working fine on our phones (a310 = f1), im not sure about booting, not sure if it will boot, there used to be old a310 patch that will work but it will kill some functions, like gps for example i am sure of that, so there isnt rly a point of installing that rom yet, i have asked the creator of that port to build a310 for you, and hopefully i will get answer and then i will upload patch for you if Jpower wont make builds of miui any time soon,

im so  sorry if i am confusing you again, english is not my native language, and i am trying my best to get everything right :D

OK - thanks a lot for that.

All clear except how is MIUI 8.2 working for F1 if it doesn't boot?!

I might just go with Jpower's latest when I get to reinstall my gf's phone.

not sure if it will boot, it will install just fine cause it is a311's version, but i think it will be in bootloop until a310 (f1) patch is added

that would probablly be for the best, until jpower makes new MIUI 8.2 version :D

OK - thanks again for your help.

I'll read up a bit more on Jpower's MIUI on the Greek forum.

I'll post back when I get my hands on the F1 to reinstall it.

Just reading the Greek myphone forum - why was jpower73's account suspended permanently?!

Is it possible to follow his MIUI developments (if any) elsewhere?

Edit: oh maybe "account suspended permanently" is a mistranslation or else a jokey signature?!

to be honest i am not quite sure about that, but later he did return and after few days he said he will continue building miui here on modaco, but for some reasons he stopped, probablly he wanted to try out other roms and not just miui

only places where he did upload his work is greek forum and modaco,

i think he is seeing this posts from you and me but dont want to reply xD

also may i ask you from what country are you?

Hi guys,

I'm on purenexus (android 6.0.1) for the moment.

I'll be back with new miui's build.

Now, I'm enjoying mm. Extremely fast and almost bugless.

I've stopped uploading roms on myphone.gr because i had "issues" with a member from this forum.

Anyway... Stay tuned

:)

Hello guys. Does anybody know how can I install the original rom named CoolUi 6? Is there an official update for coolpad f1 to a version of android better tham 4.2.2?

If not, can you give me the best and most stable custom rom with installation steps, please?

Is there an official 5.0 or a custom romnwithout bugs?

Do you have any idea if hearthstone works on 4.4.2 or if i can make it work on 4.2.2?

Well CoolPad company was very lazy with building kernel for our phones, and at the end they quit their work, there are a lot of port's for our phone with lollipop and marshmallow but all of them has few bugs

And for hearthstone, you need android 4.0 and up, so it will work just fine on 4.4.2

Coolpad f1 maybe is from 2014. but its still very powerfull smartphone :D

I can't play hearthstone...it doesn't show up in the search on playstore...or when it appears, it says it's not compatible with my device...

The upper mentioned roms...which one do u use? And which is best...can I brick my phone if i don' follow all the steps?

You should be able to find and install an APK or install something to fool Play Store into showing apps that it would not otherwise show due to "incompatibility".

well im currently not on stock rom, i am on custom rom called MiUi 4.4.2 version and i can see hearthstone just fine

Yes if you dont follow all steps you can brick your device but thing is you can also unbrick it easily (but i have never bricked mine so i cannot help you with that if you run into the problems)

i you want to flash your phone i would suggest 056 version since that is latest update of coolui for 4.4.2

you can find latest apk version on the internet, if you want ill give you latest apk version, and you can try to run it

Iphones encrypted by default.

Android newer versions give option to encrypt the memory under privacy/security settings.

Otherwise anyone can access your files over usb without the need for a password.

FWIW I'm running MIUI 7 (still haven't updated to 8!) on my Xiaomi Note 3 Pro and it offers the option to encrypt:

Settings > Additional settings > Privacy > Encrypt phone

However using this MIUI (also 7 I think?) on Coolpad F1 I don't see any option to encrypt:

http://www.needrom.com/download/f1-miui-v7-2-1-stabile/

I don't know about other MIUIs for Coolpad F1 - I did try another (kouskous's?) at one stage but can't recall if there was any encrypt option.

When I try Jpower73's one (see above) I'll check there too.

Personally encryption is of no concern to me. :D
