Guest _Drifter_
(TLDR in the end) So where's the thing, one day I had the idea to flash a new rom. I'm not a newbie in flashing rom, it's not my first rodeo per si, basically I don't remember to run a phone without custom rom. So I download the rom, put it in the micro SD, went to TWRP, wipe data, cache and Dalvik and flash the rom. Near the finish, an error: unable to mount /data. Weird, so wipe again and the same error, flash the rom again and the same error... Starting to get worried. Try Reboot the phone... Dead. Couldn't boot, couldn't go to recovery, the phone was simply dead. Take the phone to the warranty, and the board was fried. Now the phone was fixed and it's fine, but this is super weird to me, why this error and how could a simple rom flash burn a board? TL'DR: Want a custom rom. Flash a custom rom. Error unable to mount /data Unable to boot the phone Fried board Why?

Guest c0d3x42
If you never got as far as executing any ROM code then that points to something lower level. Recovery just copies bytes into and onto partitions, copy them to the wrong place on the underlying storage and that could overwrite the bootloader / partition information, which would be bad. The fact that while in recovery you couldn't unmount /data sounds like a lowlevel fault, dmesg might have given more of a clue.
