Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 3, 2003 Report Share Posted April 3, 2003 Just had my replacement phone and it worked first time :lol: cheers Mesh121 open the app on your PC and follow the instructions. 1, open app and place phone in cradle, click on begin 2, when instructed to remove the phone from the cradle click on ok and do a hard reset. 3, as the instructions say replace phone in the cradle after the Orange screen dissappears (wait until the blue windows screen appears) once the phone has finished booting then you can quit the app. and that's it ;) To test to see if it's worked, take a look in software and try out one of the many freebeta apps there. Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 19, 2003 Report Share Posted April 19, 2003 Ok did you manage to do a hard reset? if not do the following, This is the hard reset part and not the entire walkthrough for the decert process. OK start the process follow the instructions then... 1, Remove the phone from the cradle 2, power off the phone 3, Make sure the storage card is in the phone 4, Press and hold the record button and press the power button 5, When the phone starts to power up release the buttons and you should see the message "Card Found" 6, You should then get the message press any key, Press the action button for more than two seconds to enter the boot loader. 7, In the boot loader choose Erase IPSM when this has finished is should displat "Passed" 8, Now Press and hold the Powerbutton to restart the phone. 9, When you see the blue MS screen wait a couple of seconds and place the phone back in the crade to complete the decert app ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I realise this is a known fault but cannot find any reference to a work around in the newsgroup is it a prob with the programme? Will v3 address this? Or is it just me?
