Buy a P20 Pro, get free Huawei Freebuds - or enter to win!

How about this for a deal?

If you buy the awesome P20 Pro from a qualifying retailer between 18th July and 16th August 2018, you can score yourself a free pair of Huawei Freebuds wireless earphones. Simply fill in the claim form at the Huawei website between 14 and 30 days after your purchase and you'll receive your free earphones within 30 days. If you've splashed a little less cash on a P20, you can still get a pair of non-wireless noise cancelling earphones.

Or, you can try and win some Freebuds courtesy of MoDaCo and Huawei! Between now and the close of the promo on 16th August, we're going to be a posting a variety of ways to enter the competition before we choose the winner, who will receive a brand new pair of black Huawei Freebuds. We'll also be posting an unboxing, a review and our thoughts when compared with other similar earphones such as Apple's Airpods. Yes, we went out and bought a set of Airpods just to see which we like best!

Before we give you the link to the first way to enter, let's tell you what Freebuds are! Freebuds are truly wireless earphones that are incredibly simple to setup and use. After Bluetooth pairing, they connect automatically as you open the case and you can both listen to music or make phone calls when wearing them. Courtesy of an infrared sensor, they know when they are in your ears and when you take them out. The IPX4 water resistant earphones are controlled via taps - double tap either earbud to answer / end a call, double tap the left bud at other times to launch Google Assistant and double tap the right bud at other times to play / pause your music. To ensure high quality voice on calls, 4 mics are included with noise cancelling technology. The buds will provide 3 hours of usage, which rises to 10 hours courtesy of the compact charging case.

So what are they like? We've switched to them from our faithful Zolo Liberty+ fully wireless earphones and we're impressed. They have good sound isolation (unlike the Airpods), the connection is rock solid and sound quality is great. Firmware updates are courtesy of an app that's downloaded from the Play Store and with a couple of different sizes of fittings available, they've stayed in our ears so far! Of course, more detailed impressions will follow, but initial impressions are good. We also like that they are available in black (the colour we're giving away!), to make them a little different to Apple's equivalent.

So... how can you get your own? Aside from picking up a P20 Pro or P20 as discussed, you can head on over to our Gleam page and get your entries in. Stay tuned to hear about the additional methods over the coming weeks and good luck!
