Honeycomb (Android 3.2) for the HTC Flyer leaks

    PaulOBrien

    flyerhc1.pngflyerhc3.pngflyerhc9.png

A leak of the forthcoming Honeycomb (android 3.2) ROM is now available!

The process of installation is certainly not for the faint hearted (with no less than 19 steps!), but the end result is a vast improvement on the Gingerbread Flyer experience with full Pen support throughout the OS, all the niceties of Honeycomb but with a sprinking of HTC Sense enhancement throughout!

Hit up the Flyer forum for full details. :)

Thanks , you are correct no SD card , I just inserted one and complete zip flashing. It completed ok , I reboot the tablet and it got stuck on white HTC screen ... :-(

Any ideas how to troubleshoot it now ?

    David

Did you wipe data and cache in recovery?

    Regards,

    Dave

Hi Paul, Please how do you flash the radios and stuff (.img files)?

    Thanks,

    Munachi.

Read Pauls first Post in this thread - via fastboot.

Paul, what we can try is to build a signed pg41img.zip with all the 2.23 parts except the hboot and for the hboot we take a backup of the revolutionary hboot (version is higher than the stock one) ?

Stuck at Step 12. How does one push the new HBOOT to the device? Please Please Please help!!!

    I'm on a PC.

    Thanks,

    Munachi

You should be in recovery (NOT in bootloader or fastboot) and enter the the adb commands exactly as: adb push stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 / && adb shell dd if=/stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18

    Many thanks amf14.

Would this entry be made on pc in command prompt?

    Sorry for the 'silly' questions.

    Thanks.

    Munachi.

After running the "fastboot flash radio stock-hc-flyer-radio.img" command it just hangs and says "< waiting for device >"

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Just a heads up that I tried to roll back to GB, and got the same:

    Paul-OBriens-iMac:GB paul$ fastboot flash zip rom.zip
    sending 'zip' (470947 KB)... OKAY
    writing 'zip'... INFOzip header checking...
    INFOzip info parsing...
    FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)[/code]

So it looks as though, at the moment, rolling back isn't possible!

So we have to wait s-off from revolutionary team...

Have you tried GB with the new hboot ?

    Yeah, predictably it doesn't work.

The other issue is if we get a S-OFF version of the new hboot, we probably don't have a way to flash it!

9.Flash your device's radio with the Honeycomb radio with the fastboot command 'fastboot flash radio stock-hc-flyer-radio.img'

Sorry, where should I put the file 'radio stock-hc-flyer-radio.img' on the PC?

The same location as the "adb tools" does?

    Thank you.

If you don't know this maybe you should read a lot about flashing custom roms on android devices before trying this guide. It's very easy to go wrong and then your Flyer would be destroyed.

BUMP* After running the "fastboot flash radio stock-hc-flyer-radio.img" command it just hangs and says "< waiting for device >"

    Any ideas?

BTW the "Android USB Driver" is installed - flyer appears as "Android ADB Interface"... also i am in the screen that says "Fastboot USB" after running "adb reboot bootloader" ... and yes it says "-Revolutionary- FLYER PVT SHIP S-OFF RL" at the top

    Thanks

    • Launch ClockworkMod recovery - navigate to the 'bootloader' menu then select 'recovery'
    • Push the new hboot to your device (you've checked the MD5 right?) and flash - 'adb push stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 / && adb shell dd if=/stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18'

I don´t understand this points. PLS help. At first, by example: My CWM don´t have a Bootloader-Menu...
