    Roku mobile app updated

Roku, the maker of Roku streaming players, has updated its mobile app for Android (and iOS). The latest update brings some interesting new features as well as a wider regional availability for the application.

The Roku mobile app, which effectively acts as a remote control for your Roku streaming player on the same wifi network, now supports "Play on Roku". "Play on Roku" allows you to display images from your Android (or iOS) device on your TV through your Roku player. As well as images, DRM free MP3 music files can be played on your TV (and sound system if connected) through your Roku player.

The Roku mobile app is now available in more markets, so as well as in the US, Roku users in the UK, Canada and the Republic of Ireland can now install it from the Google Play Store.

The latest version of the Roku mobile app also removes some bugs and improves stability and discoverability of Roku players on WiFi networks.
