  1. Looking to put a Giff Gaff SIM to boost data while away on holiday since I only get 500MB/mth on current contract. Seen a lot of conflicting answers on this one scattered on t'net - anyone know/point me to the definitive answer for the UK dual SIM version? Thanks in advance! :)
  2. UPDATE: Got this guidance emailed from Motorola as a follow up on how to access factory reset (it is on the same menu as the Wipe Cache Partition plus other recovery and update tools) 1. With the phone powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time (You can also hold Volume Up+Power+Volume Down) until the device turns on. 2. Press the Volume Down button once to highlight "Recovery mode" 3. Press the Volume Up button to restart into Recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command." 4. While holding down the Power button, press the Volume Up button and release both at the same time,do this twice or thrice. 5. Use the volume buttons to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power button to select it. 6. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press the Power button to select it
  3. Just a heads up that I found I couldn't use the official guidance on the Motorola site today to clear my cache to try to fix the laggy issues I've been having with Lollipop on my XT1068. You still hold down volume DOWN for few secs and then power button to reboot into menu and then select recovery mode same way. However to get to next recovery menu, you press power and then I think tap volume UP to get menu with clear cache option plus other options (I had to play around a little but I think this was option that did it), NOT holding volume UP for 10-15s before tapping power etc as mentioned on the Motorola site. Motorola tech chat told me Lollipop has changed this but they've not updated the site yet. Rest of steps are unchanged. Now hoping a cache wipe has fixed my lag! Certainly looking better so far, fingers crossed.
  4. The pull down menu has the brightness controls on it - as mentioned you can use 2 fingers to get straight to it. j4velin notification toggle is good as mentioned and appears without even having to unlock the screen on lollipop - thinking about uninstalling it now though that all the controls including flashlight are so easy to get to..
  5. I'm not sure the XT1039 was actually released in the UK?
  6. Thanks. It's a bit better, but still not great. Surely it should be possible to get a reasonably spec'd phone like this running well without rooting it!!!!
  7. Have to say my 2nd gen G seems to have slowed down with 5.0.2 and quite laggy - often seems to stop when loading Email inbox from the lock screen and require re-opening. Had bad lag on a few other occasions too, including with the camera which is really annoying when you want to capture the action! Here's hoping 5.1 isn't too far round the corner which I think is supposed to speed things up
  8. My wife's GT-I9300 is on latest update v4.3 but seems to be running like it's stuck in treacle. A factory reset helped - for less than week. It still has around 3.8GB space free (out of 16GB) Any suggestions? Would prefer not to start having to faff about with rooting and the like if possible...
  9. XT1068 - Upgraded from out-of-box 4.4.4 to new stock 5.0.2
  10. Just got mine yesterday afternoon! Think I'm noticing better battery life already, although it was really quite slow immediately after rebooting, now seems to have settled in more.
  11. I've just picked one up myself on Rakuten and they have a promo code which works for £10 until midnight on 19th - GIFT40. Hoping some of the people on here can help me getting it running nicely :-)
  12. OP states he has a Moto G without SD card...
  13. Any suggestions how I can get my 16GBer humming again without a factory reset and having to reinstall all my apps/music etc? I still have over 2.5 GB of space left so it shouldn't be down to that, surely? Phone has never been rooted, and not really wanting to if I can at all avoid it! Thanks in anticipation...
  14. Me too - got one for my work phone (have a 'G for myself!)
  15. If as administrator I delete any additional user accounts on a tablet, is it possible for someone to recover any information about that additional account on that tablet (e.g. user files, email or other acount details)?
