  1. No matter what kind of files you lost, and if you want to recover, just find some software like Data Recovery to help you.
  2. 3e would require a update zip from memory. If you boot to recovery it will say update from xxx. I don't actually know what the update consists of on SGS3 tar zip or what format. For more information visit: Android Recovery.

    1 Connect your Android device to the computer You need to enable USB debugging on your Android phone. According to the Android OS version running on your device, choose a way to enable it. 1) For Android 2.3 or earlier: Enter "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click "Development" < Check "USB debugging" 2) For Android 3.0 to 4.1: Enter "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging" 3) For Android 4.2 or newer: Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until getting a note "You are under developer mode" < Back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging" 2 Scan your Android device for lost data with Android Data Recovery. After enabling the USB debugging, you'll get the window as follows. Click "Start" to anaylize your device. 3 Preview and recover contacts, messages, photos and video from Android When the scan completes, you'll get a scan result below. You can preview SMS, contacts and photos scanned out. Choose those you need and click "Recover" to preserve them on your computer.
