Bypass forced lollipop update on setup wizard

I have a fresh hudl 2 to root. During the initial set-up, once connected to wifi and it searches for updates, will I be forced into having Lollipop installed because obviously I won't then be able to root it? Thanks.
  2. Blimey, not only have Tesco pulled support for the hudl 2 but it almost seems most members here have also! Help, somebody. Please! :(
  3. ^^^ Anyone? Really don't fancy a forced update upgrading the tablet to Lollipop then not being able to root it.

How to root your Hudl 2

Just to double-check, the tethered recovery method is still as per instructions in this thread: Thanks.

Does hudl 2 support 128GB microSD cards?

Thanks for replying. Still running KitKat 4.4 and have rooted. Do you know if this supports 128GB microSD cards (via built-in internal slot) or 128GB OTG flash drives?

How to root your Hudl 2

Have a fresh untouched hudl 2 to root, which currently has kitkat 4.4 installed, has anything changed as far as rooting these go from six months or so ago which is when I last rooted my replacement from Tesco? Thanks.
  9. As per title, does hudl 2 support 128GB microSD cards such as this one: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Micro-SDXC/Integral/Integral-128GB-UltimaPro-MicroSDXC-Card-80MB_s-with-Adapter-Class-10---UHS-I-U1 without any issues? What software is required and steps taken in order to partition it so that apps can be stored on the card? Thanks.

Unable to access files on USB flash drive connected via OTG cable

My initial thoughts are that the flash drives were NTFS, so that may have been why they wouldn't show up? When formatting back to FAT32, what should the allocation unit size be set to? I have a brand new SanDisk Dual USB Drive 3.0 (OTG one end, regular USB the other) which I shall add some media then try. Thanks for the replies. Will report back if I still have no joy.

Unable to access files on USB flash drive connected via OTG cable

Do I need to use a particular OTG specific app to access the attached media or will something like ES File Explorer work? Thanks for replying.

Unable to access files on USB flash drive connected via OTG cable

Blimey, don't all rush at once, lol! Nobody else experienced this problem?
  13. Still running 4.4 KitKat on my hudl 2. It is rooted. tried connecting a SanDisk Extreme 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive via an OTG cable earlier but was unable to see it listed anywhere in ES File Explorer. All I could see was the internal memory plus a Samsung Evo 64GB microSD which is in the tablets microSD slot. Had a quick search on youtube and saw a lot of videos mentioning specific OTG apps. Downloaded and installed a few, none of which seemed to show the flash drive. Uninstalled them. I've seen mention of some people having issues after upgrading to Lollipop but seen as I haven't upgraded yet, am I not doing something right or is it hit and miss whether hudl 2 units will work with OTG connected flash drives? Do flash drives need formatting via any special software or will formatting to NTFS using a Windows 7 PC be fine? Thanks in advance.

Latest Sky Go App on Hudl 2

Am I correct in thinking that the Sky Go app will NOT work on a rooted hudl 2?
  15. Update tablet which will remove root then root again using method mentioned in this thread.
