  1. Thanks. Just updated Kies to the latest version and checked. No update yet. I can wait. my current versions is: PDA:KI4 / PHONE:KI1 / CSC:KH1 (CPW)
  2. Apparently 3 are rolling out the update already. Blimey they were quick. I wonder when TalkMobile (Carphonewarehouse) will release their update! I hope it's soon, although by the looks of it Samsung have made a pretty good job of keeping it looking like gingerbread.

    Vega Cases

The official case is good, but bulky. I have one and prefer only to use it when transporting the device in a bag say.

    VegaICS Alpha3

Thanks. Have been looking forward to a really good smooth running ICS for Vega, and this is the best I think.
  5. Well if you could get an x86 emulator going, then I don't see why you could not install any PC operating system you like. Would be interesting, so good luck, I'd love to see this being worked on.
  6. To be honest, I prefer it as it is. Samsung have done a great job.
  7. Have already ordered an external battery pack. This should keep me topped up when on a long journey, or on the way back home after work. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0052XMCII/ref=nosim
  8. I'm using the headphones supplied with the phone and the volume is loud, but not that loud. It's ok when it's quiet, but when you're on a train, it's not very effective. I tried other creative in-ear headphones too, and it's the same, so it must be the volume output of the phone (obviously I've tried setting the media volume to max). Is there something I can do to increase the volume?
  9. The only problem with some of these car holders is thatif in my case you have a case around the phone, then you have to take it off. I've have a very thin gel case, and would still need to take it off. Also I found that the one pictured above can sometime scratch the phone as you insert it and take it out.
  10. I posted this on HUKD. If you're looking for a 12 months contract, I don't think you can beat this. Buy through e2save on TalkMobile £149.99 = upfront for the phone. £360 = £30 x 12 months = £509.99 The possiblity of quidco (£46) brings this down to £463.99 The good thing is you get 400 mins, 1000 texts and 1GB internet.
  11. I've just installed Corvus5 over VegaComb using CWM recovery. Now I want install the SP1. I go to ROM Manager so I can flash the SP1, I select Reboot into Recovery, it juts reboots normally, rather than booting into recovery. Is there something I'm missing? edit: ignore me, got it sorted. Had to flash recovery again from ROM Manager. Seemed to have worked now.
  12. I've had the SGS2 a couple of weeks now, and before that I've had an iPhone 3G for 1.5 years, and have family members with the iPhone 4. The iPhone has a lot more apps and the apps themselves are of a higher quality than android apps (not always the case, but in general), and for the average user the iPhone is easier to use. The SGS2 is better in the Hardware department by a long way compared to the iPhone 4. The version of android in the SGS2 is Gingerbread 2.3.3 and is now in state where in general it is as good as iOS. Of course OS each one has it's pro's and con's, and you'll notice that Apple has added a bunch of features that were first released in android to the soon to be out iOS 5 (i.e. the copied Android goodies). The irony is they accuse everyone else of copying them and now they have copied Android, and also ripped off the wi-fi sync app that a student submitted to the app store which they rejected. Personally I think they are both great as I like the competition and it's only better for the consumer as things heat up between them and we get better features at the end of it. As for SGS2 v iPhone 4, I'd personally say SGS2, but you'll need to see if there are any critical apps that you will need that are not available for android.
  13. I just got my GS2 yesterday and have been playing around with it. I know it's still fairly new, but what would people's top 5 or 10 things to do after getting a new GS2? What essential or cools apps do you recommend? Best browser on this little beast? and just general tips and tricks to get the best out of it. Cheers.
